Celtics!

Post by dazed&confused »

Were the Celtics just laying in the weeds, taking it easy on their veterans during the long grind of the regular season, are they just getting healthy and peaking at the right time or is it the emergence of Rondo that is allowing them to storm the NBA playoffs? Whatever it is, they are on a collision course with the Lakers for the title and my money is on team ball and defense. Boston frustrates Kobe and sends Phil into retirement on some Hindu quest.

Boston has surprised everyone who watches the NBA. they had a pretty good regular season but who expected this. Having Orlando down 3-0 has to scare LA fans a little. Rondo has proven he is one of the best guards in the NBA with his great play to say the least. In the long run the Lakers are just to much. The teams the Celts play in the East had weak spots. The Cavs, stop LBJ you can beat them and thats what they did. Same with Orlando they get in Howards head and they stop him from getting inside. The Lakers just have to much fire power they are strong down low and Kobe can't be stoped Artest has crazy defense and Odom comes off the bench scoring 15. The Lakers will be the Champs in 6 games.

I wouldnt be so bold but i have to agree...it might work on weak minded and young players but not Kobe Fisher Artest and Gasol...

Boston in 6. In case you forgot the 08 finals it will be the same result. Boston is more physical, play better team ball, and better defense. They will shove Gasol and his Euro finesse style around. Rondo will run circles around 100yr old Derek Fisher. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Tony Allen will take turns guarding Kobe Bryant. Ron Artest will be dead tired because he will be chasing Ray Allen around all night Reggie Miller style. The old Celts took a break during the season, but they are built for the playoffs. Kobe will walk off the court crying again, and Phil will retire.

When is the last time you ever saw Artest give up on defense you can't name one. If he guards Allen he will keep him under 15 a night, Kobe will out score Peirce by 10 to 15 a game. Also it will be a different story for Garnett when he has Gasol on him. Garnett has been guared by the way smaller Jamison and had his was and now Lewis and Barnes which are both smaller than him. When it comes to Perkins or Bynum, Bynum will handle him with ease. Yea Rondo is better than Fish, but fish is still goin to score 10 a game. Also Odom is playing very good right now, he is good for 10 to 15 a night off the bench.

Thank you Rebels you save me plenty of time... Im going to laugh when shannon brown posterizes KG... hes going to force him into retirement....and who is going to guard kobe... kobe isnt lebron... kobe can do a little bit more then just hit layups and a jumpshot occasionally... the way boston guarded lebron wont work on kobe...and if you remember kobe and gasol did well in 08 it was the rest of the team that let them down

The reason Celts lost last night is they let Howard in the paint, the first 3 games they did a good job of keeping him out of the paint. Nelson had a good game finnaly, and they got good playing time out of Barnes. Dont count Orlando out just yet. It seems to me Rondo didn't play like he played in the first 3 games. Also they could have got a good shot at the end of the game if Peirce wasn't tring to be a hero, you have one of the best shooters of all time on your team it should be in Allens hands for the last shot. :122246

I'll be rooting for the Celtics but the Lakers should win the series with their youth and height if they can stay under control and out of foul trouble. If Boston can make it a half court game then they have a legitimate shot at another title.

Look guys Boston will win this series just like they did in 08. Everything that LA does Boston does a little better. The Lakers have been beating up on the west because they are taller than everyone out there. That won't work on Boston because they are just as big plus more physical. The Lakers achilles heel is physical defense. Gasol, Bynum, and Odom will not match up with the physicality of Garnett, Wallace, and Perkins. The only place LA has the advantage is with Kobe Bryant, and like I said they will keep a fresh defender on him at all times i.e. Allen, Allen, and Pierce. Kobe will get his, but basketball is a team sport. Rondo will abuse Derek Fisher. Ray Allen will run off screens all night knocking down threes over Artest. Gasol will complain and say they were being too physical. :aaaaa18 Bynum can't stay healthy long enough, and Odom only shows up one out of every six or seven games. This series will come down to who plays better defense and is more physical. Watch and see.

Those boasting about the Lakers on here better hope they get away from Phoenix  . They will eventually but now they don't look so invincible, do they? Celtics will finish off Orlando tonight or if not, definitely in Boston by game 6. The Lakers are looking at a game seven to make it to the finals. Gasol will be undressed again by the Celtics in the Finals.

Yeah just like how boston just dropped 2 straight before finishing Orlando off....
And these 2 teams are completely different from 2 years ago...Bostons big 3 had eroded but Rondo has emerged.
Lakers have acquired Ron Artest and distribute their minutes to much better causes now

The Lakers don't even see defense in the Western Conference, let alone one like the Celtics play. Lakers get extended to a seventh game against the Suns and better hope no one gets hurt in a desperate struggle. Celtics, meanwhile, are resting those cagey veterans before next Thursday and the rest of the cast gets time to heal. Celtics in six!

Wrong!!!!

Lakers 111
Suns 103

Lakers win at Phoenix in game 6 to win the series 4-2.

And I'm also guessing that the Eastern Conference is Stronger than the Western Conference to Right?

I Admire you. You get Stoned out of your mind every day but somehow still string along some sentences and post on this forum. I'm just truly amazed that you can type with the mental capacity you have. I just wish you would be kind enough to share.

Wow, that's personal!!! Anyone who knows me would laugh at your assertion. I can do more than "string along some sentences". Do yourself a favor, move out of your mom's basement, get a real job and then talk like this. 17 Banners hanging from the rafters, soon to be 18.

I have a lot of respect for your service in the military. Seems you have no regard for anyone in the professional business world.
