Two words "TVC HOCKING"

The TVC will never get credit for their accomplishments in athletics in SE Ohio. 3 Teams in Regional Finals and still because we didn't "advance" were not one of the better conferences. It honestly gets frustrating these kids from their small schools put 100 percent into their sport and community and they still come up short to the eyes of SE Ohio.

Southern took out three soc schools on the way to the regionals, SW, Clay and ND.

Yes I am. I'm also a smart enough and knowledgable enough sports fan to not make stupid statements like we are the best conference in southeast Ohio just because you sent 3 teams to the regionals once.

Exactly, and if you had actually read my posts above you would see I said they are a good conference, but to make the statement they are the "best in southeast Ohio" is just ludicrous.

Wheelersburg has dominated the southeast in most every sport for the past 35+ years but you will never hear me say they are the "best team in southeast Ohio" because I know for a fact they aren't.

You can thank federal hocking for beating minford so wheelersburg didn't have to face them again. 3 Teams make it to the regional final and nobody said anything about being the best ever. I took it as the best this year as they were. Congrats to Federal Hocking, Trimble, and Southern to everyone in SE Ohio you schools are garbage who are just "good" but the work you did on the field was "immaculate" and well represented the SE Ohio area.

It's too bad we can't do like the Big 10 / ACC do in college basketball. Take the SOC II vs the TVC. To me, Burg, Valley, and the rest of the game would take care of the TVC hands down. I don't care how many of TVC teams go to wherever, the SOC II is much stronger. Baseball is crazy game and anything can happen at anytime, but the SOC is a stronger conference.

We had 1 advance to the regional and then on to the final 4, shutting out what was evidently one of your best teams.

So who played in the tougher conference and was better prepared to play the tougher competition?

Once again, I never said the TVC wasn't a good conference, but to say they are the best in southeast Ohio is a bold statement considering not one team advanced past the regionals. If you are the best then you prove it on the field, not by making ludicrous statements on a forum.

Alright, I'm kinda of going to step out of character for me and say what needs to be said to give this one a rest.

Anytime that someone makes a holistic statement that claims that "I'm the Best!" or "I'm King of the World" (remember that one James Cameron, it came back to bite you in the butt this year with Avatar), well, people don't like it, are going to exception to it, and then the flailing ensues...... LOL!

Yes, this YEAR, the TVC did very well. It can be argued that "THIS YEAR", the TVC Hocking was the best in SE Ohio, but the originator of this thread did not use a qualifier about the claim being time bound.

It came across like they were saying, the TVC Hocking is the best conference in SE Ohio, period.

Come on, we all know that is not true, so we end up with all this bickering about nothing.

TVC Hocking had a hell of a year. Don't think that anyone will argue that. Perennially, the best conference, I don't think so, nor would I be stupid enough to claim that.

Let's recognize what was done this year and enjoy it, and wish the "Burg" the best up at Huntington Park next Thursday. They are representing all of us, so let's get behind them.

Yes the burg could beat any team in the TVC hocking. They are a WAY bigger school (other then Fed Hock) and nonetheless they are a great team and did make it to the final four. Congrats to them! But when you are talking about the BEST conference, one team making it to the final four is great but the TVC hocking had not one team make it to the final four but had THREE teams make it to the regionals. You gotta agree with me there, great great conference. THE BEST!!! Enough said

There are only three TVC teams that would play in SOC I and they would be the largest teams in that division bar Symmes Valley. The rest would have to be SOC II.

As to opinion: Valley, Westfall and even Piketon could have beaten Federal Hocking. But they were defeated on the other side of the bracket before ever playing them in the regional. Sometimes it helps to come up one side of the bracket or the other. Overall, I got the impression that DIII baseball was down in general this year in the southeast. Don't get me wrong because I think they are good but Wheelersburg has had arguably better teams not reach the regionals. We are all just lucky that Indian Valley went back up to Division II. It is every bit as important to be lucky as good in the tournaments...

Congratulations on Southern beating Clay, Notre Dame and South Webster...
Not to mention Trimble on beating Green and Federal Hocking on beating Minford.

Last year, the SOC had three teams win district championships in three different divisions (Division II-Waverly, Division III-Wheelersburg, Division IV-Symmes Valley)

The breakdown between the divisions by league for the past five years on reaching the regionals:

Division II: SCOL 2, MSL 2, SOC 1
Division III: SVC 6, SOC 4, TVC 2, SHL 1
Division IV: TVC 8, SOC 2**

**Division I and IV has the largest variations of sizes of schools. It is advantage to be a MUCH larger school playing a much smaller school. The TVC has a big advantage in this division when it comes to size.

4 of those 8 trips to the regionals belong to Southern alone.

I thought that this discussion was about the TVC Hocking. Why bring the TVC Ohio into the discussion? Divide and conquer, or divide and deflect?

No one was arguing that one entire conference was better than the other. The discussion surrounded the TVC Hocking, not both conferences.

I've already said what I wanted to say about his subject, and am a little surprised that the Ohio division was pulled into the discussion, as they are not relevant to the point/counterpoint that some wanted to get engaged in about the TVC HOCKING conference.
