Re: scioto county peewee football
Meaningless is probably a bad word to use. What I mean is the guys I've been around try not to loose site of why we're there and what were supposed to accomplish. Sure we want to win and I know the kids do. The goal should be and is to go undefeated and win the Super Bowl. But if we don't accomplish those goals and we still send a group of kids to the seventh grade prepared to play and that have had enough fun that they want to keep playing, then I think we've did our jobs.

Re: scioto county peewee football
What is the goal? Who are the goals set for? The answer is our kids. I think we should make sure that kids learn the game, have fun doing it, motivate that competitive side in them to want to succeed in a game as well as in life, continue their skills learned along the way to each level honing them as they go, and get into college to get a degree no matter what size school it is. More could go from around here if they were driven in the write direction. Too many kids are aloud to make their own decisions. Parents and coaches need to make that a long term goal for kids when they are young that they should not settle for second best. That they are not losers. That they are going to work hard, and it is going to pay off. Not all are cut out to be football players, baseball players, or scholars, but determination and alot of work and help can give many the oppurtunity. If we give all the kids in a league the same size trophy for being the last team are we really helping them? Or are we hurting them? I say the latter. I sound like I am hard, but I have the biggest heart for kids and it does always need to be fun, but I want to make sure that I can help as many kids as possible. If I inspire 1 kid that is 1 that wasn't that way the day before. I could have played D1 college football. The offers were there, but I chose not because of lack of leadership. I live with that every day. I want to make sure that these kids are started in the right direction. The seeds are being planted now.

Wherever the Outlaws get a field. PHS 4 and West 4 both return most of their teams. I'm not predicting anyone but I will give a sleeper in 5/6=West 5th. Big,strong, very well coached!

IMO, the Rough Riders are the favorite for 5th/6th.
Who is the favorite for 3rd/4th?
West 3rd looked tough last season. I would say that they have a good chance to win it all.
I agree with you Tobias, West 3rd was a tough little group last year and will only get better. They really impressed me in their game vs the Outlaws last year. Outsized by a ton but they never gave up...
Re: scioto county peewee football
Northwest 3rd & 4th grade will have alot of skilled kids, who have never even hit before...should be interesting what happens there?
Good thing is they will be taught the right way to hit!!

We were the same way last year, good skilled players , not big at all, and couldn't tackle until mid season.
Re: scioto county peewee football
I'm hearing that RR 5/6 now have 38 kids and they are thinking of splitting into two teams each combined 5th and 6th graders. There is no way that is going to be able to be done fairly or at least fairly in the eyes of the parents. How can they possible be split with both equal talent on both teams as well as equal number of kids from each school on both teams. It is VERY clear cut to me, there should be a 5th grade team and a 6th grade team and no one can be accused of being biased. That would leave each team with approx. same number of kids and give the younger more inexperienced ones more playing time.

Noted.......And please throw against us. As Woody used to say 3 things happen when you throw the ball and 2 of them are bad.Tobias wrote:West 5th/6th has a weakness.NICKNEVADA wrote:Wherever the Outlaws get a field. They are big up front, but are vulnerable in the secondary.
Teams should throw the ball against West 5th/6th instead of pounding the ball up front.

Re: scioto county peewee football
I would say that is as bold as they come. Good luck West 4th. You beat them without a problem and I would say you are on your way. They are with out a doubt the favorite for jv this year. I see a litle pot stirring from you Mr. QB4. Most of the kids at this age level don't read this stuff just the parents and some of the Coaches. Good luck to your team this year.
