St. Clairsville field turf installation complete

Post by carbon_dated »

The Red Devils have a beautiful new football field that underwent a switch from grass to field turf and it's absolutely beautiful. Be nice if Wheelersburg could be back on the schedule, but that's a heckuva bus ride.
I believe there's links on www.wtrf.com and/or www.wtov9.com that shows the stadium.
A lot of improvements with StC athletics since Kelly Rine moved up from Albany Alexander as A.D.

In the long run, field turf is definitely cheaper than maintaining grass. It's just that initial half a million to one million down to prep the base.

You might go to www.wtov9.com and find the high school link for St. C.

Congratulations to St. Clairsville on the upgrade. They field a fine football team.

I found these pics online of the stadium. I will try and get up there soon and get some additional photos. I know the work on the track has progressed and i believe the new field goal posts are in.

Here is a video from our local news station. Stadium is basically complete, some minor finishing touches.

I did the radio broadcast for the 2007 Rock Hill-St. Clairsville playoff game from up there for WIRO.

Never been treated better anywhere I've been, and I've been all over the place for high school football. Perhaps some other places were equal, but never better. Glad to see they're making improvements to what is already a unique place to play.

Hope to run by there sometime in December this year...

Thank you Pioneer! Sometimes we get a bad rap around here for being stuck up, rich people which I do not think is the case so I am glad you had a good time visting Red Devil Stadium and St. Clairsville.

Best of Luck this season!
