Re: Wellston Basketball
Nice to see the state hasn't stripped Wellston's internet service yet. Over 2000 views and you are the first one to step up to the plate although i must've missed where you told us anything about the bball program Since you spend most of your time on the footbal thread i'll let it pass haha. Seriously though, i'm hearing and seeing alot of excitement in the football fans around town but bball seems to sour everyones mood. Any input on what you expect or has football fever completely taken over???
Re: Wellston Basketball
The reason us Wellston fans aren't posting on this thread is because everyone in here are idiots.

@nd_1,
I am not an idiot. Would you care to comment on the stats I mentioned earlier in this post in reference to VC vs. Wellston stats which I cited.
Surely you and the other Wellston basketball fans can not be pleased with the direction the program has gone over the last seven years. And it appears that it will continue in the doldrums for the near future.
Comment please.

Re: Wellston Basketball
Well, I count only two Wellston fans; boilermaker and @nd_1. For the minority to label the majority "idiots" is daring to say the least. I would be remiss if I do not point out the obvious, there is more support for Wellston basketball outside of Wellston (as indicated by the number of posters) than there is inside of Wellston. However, this should not be surprising to any, this is another example of the purposeful mismanagement of the entire system from the top down. I cannot tell you how many times I went to a non Vinton County/Wellston game over the past three seasons or so and saw the fan support that the young men had received. It would break your heart for those young men. This is an indictment on Wellston School Board, the administration, and the coaching staff. Once there is a change, the city of Wellston will see a renewed growth in support of their home town team. After all, we want all of us to do well, we are neighbors and we are family and friends.

Mighty Kong has woken from his slumber!
I just found a renewed growth of my own last night! Riddle me this: A man can't sell his blood because he has hepatitis... but he can't buy hepatitis medicine if he doesn't sell his blood... but dont tell that to the blood bank in Wellston (wink wink).

Very Interesting Kong. Like I, you are a very interesting man. Not as interesting as I however. In Wellston they never say anything tastes like chicken, even chicken.

Boiler,
I know you did not call anyone anything. My previous post was addressed to @nd_1.
He still hasn't given me his thoughts on the stats I cited. Probably never will.
Have a good one.

@nd_1,
Thank you and I apologize for thinking you were ignoring my post.
But still, what are your thoughts on why Wellston's BkB program has gone down hill so mych in recent years?
I'm still not an idiot!

Re: Wellston Basketball
The problem is talent. No coach can win without talent, and Wellston has had a dry spell of no "true" basketball players for the last 5 or 6 years.

Re: Wellston Basketball
i have a tough time believing this, i watched several howie caldwell teams play inspired basketball with minimal talent, as well the trimble tomcats over the years. I watched Wellston play this past winter and I felt they were uninspired it was more like Coach Derrow was holding onto his record rather than in it to improve high school players lives.
