SHL 2010-11
Re: SHL 2010-11
Tribe I was at that game last night and that was a quiet 30 that he had it seemed like...the 3pt. shot wasn't falling as frequently as it normally does but I like how he went to the pull up jumper to get some buckets, a nice addition to his game I think

Yes he had a rough first quarter...only had 4 points I think....and the thirty was without him playing like 5 mins of the second quarter. He seemed to find his stroke in the second half.pitchfork wrote:Tribe I was at that game last night and that was a quiet 30 that he had it seemed like...the 3pt. shot wasn't falling as frequently as it normally does but I like how he went to the pull up jumper to get some buckets, a nice addition to his game I think

He is the highest recruited player in the southeast. I think he is as good as anyone ive seen play in our region...he definately has the best shot IMO.mikethompson wrote:blake justice has to be the best player in southeastern ohio this year. thoughts ?

Manchester had 86 and Felicity had 43. The halftime score was 48-12. Combs had 30 something and Blevins had 24-25. It was a pretty entertaining game, even though it was a blow-out.

Everyone forgets that mc has the options of players from an entire county, they should have bigger stronger athletes than a small school like peebles. Peebles is a very nice team, and Justice is a nice player

Re: SHL 2010-11
Not have a chance? I think we would be just as good as MC....Jordan Gilbert, Treg Setty, and Neal Pawsat are IMO their only standout players and last I heard Neal wont be able to play because of an injury.greyhound#1 wrote:u could take best from adams county and still not have chance against mc..

If Adams County put together a team I would be confident enough to put money on a game against MC. The talent is there.

Seems like most of the talk on this thread is about Manchester and Peebles but for the others out there:
Ripley 31 Whiteoak 36
Lynchburg Clay 20 Fayetteville 17
West Union 13 Fairfield 22
North Adams 13 Peebles 49
Manchester 28 Eastern Brown 20

Greyhound you are an idiot. The kid is going to play D1 regardless of where it is. Jealousy is an ugly color..

i would love to know who the real greyhound#1 is...so we would all officially know who the biggest idiot in AC is!..Justice has accomplished something great..that no one else has been able to do..give him some credit..and akron has made tourny and won 20 + games the last like 5-6 seasons...including beating OU last year

SHL Preview
IMO
Why play the preview in Manchester? It should always be held in a central location.
Matchups:
Ripley VS WO Ripley showed in the first qtr what many thought. They are the team to beat in the Big league. Depth might be a concern.
Lynch VS Fay Good game by two avg. young teams.
Fair VS WU Fairfield was the disappointment of the night. Starters should have dominated the WU squad.
Peebles VS NA Peebles sent a clear message that they are the team to beat by taking advantage of a depleated NA squad
Manchester VS East Good game. I thought Manchester would try to match the 49 points Peebles put up in the dog pound. But, Easterns defense kept the hounds in check.
My Predictions:
Ripley Peebles
Eastern Manchester
Lynchburg Fairfield
NA WO
WU Fayetteville

Re: SHL 2010-11
The preview is rotated every year to try and keep it fair to everyone. It would make sense but if it were held in a central location all the time too many people would complain.
Ripley took out their starters after the 1st qtr score of 29-17. As mentioned above the depth is a problem as the bench only scored 2 points in the 2nd. I'm sure they will take the bigs.
I don't really have many comments on the Lynchburg-Fayetteville and West Union-Fairfield games. I also thought Fairfield would runaway with it early on.
North Adams used to be the team to beat in the SHL but thats not the case right now. The score pretty much says it all in this game.
Every year it seems Eastern are contenders and now they have a young core to build on for a while. Coach Beucler said it's probably the youngest team he's ever had. Manchester's Blevins was the go to guy on their side.
Overall its great to see the SHL back in action. I also like the fact that they are starting to play the bigger schools throughout OH and KY. It gives them the experience they need to make deep runs in the tourneys. Nobody gives the SHL much credit but the past couple years our teams have been getting more attention.

Re: SHL 2010-11
Peebles went 5-0 today at Portsmouth with two wins over Wellston and 3 against Portsmouth.
Re: SHL 2010-11
Peebles was very impressive last night against a down NA team. Noticed North Adams didnt have caleb harper or dollich playing, but Peebles just drilled them. And wins over porstmouth, even in a scrimmage, shows how tough they'll be
