yes ironton had their starting shortstop and another starter gone , both pitchers too , however, that didnt beat this team,, thats what makes this team so good. Its a team you could take 2 starting players away and they wont miss a beat. Now no doubt they are better with the other 2 players but most teams take their shortstop and another pitcher away from their team and they would be lucky not to get mercy ruled. The ironton group still hung in there and had alot of chances ,, last at bat,, ironton had runners on 1st and 2nd 1 out and ball hit to left field for a base hit and they still have runners on 1st and 2nd and 2 outs. that hurt the somewhat rally they had going, this ironton group is a very good team, i dont think the best TEAM won, but the best player did.

Gotta take my hat off to the Burg..they got it done...and we just didn't take advantage of our chances..We were given opportunities..just couldn't cash in..at this level..you can't not take advantage of your opportunities...This group of kids from Ironton though are something special..and in a couple of years..will again be a force to be reconned with..I agree..the best team may not have won..but the Burg is a good ball club..and I wish them all the luck..As for Ironton..had we had our short stop..I believe it would have been over in the game played tuesday..but that's how the ball rolls...Go get em tigers...keep your heads up..and we will keep getting better for the 2012 year...
