Re: week1 Ironton vs Burg
As a Burg fan, this is hard to say, but I think it will be another year like last season.
Ironton is just too big! And Burg lost too much talent last season.
Not saying Burg wont be good this season, but not to beat Ironton.
But I hope so!

Re: week1 Ironton vs Burg
this is always a classic, though the series is extremely lopsided in ironton's favor. this is always a duel to the end. a classic game in ohio, always worthy of a game of the week. and literally the school's are about a dozen males apart in enrollment, so it couldn't be any more evenly contested. and the 2 cities 25 minutes from each other, no empty seats. always an electric atmosphere to kick off a season.

Re: week1 Ironton vs Burg
I will pull for the SOC, but Ironton is gonna be way too tough this year. Burg lost alot to graduation and Ironton returns a tremendous amount of talent. I have Ironton going to the state semis this year and will take the Fighting Tigers by 3TD's. Burg is going to have a tough schedule this year. 6 of the 10 teams on their schedule has a legitimate shot at making the playoffs and winning playoff games.
Re: week1 Ironton vs Burg
Burg returns 18 seniors, a lot of whom did not get to play last year. Shank and the entire line is back except center but the guy replacing him is strongest on team. They lost speed but not strength, and they have 10 times the chemistry of last years team. Don't overlook this team.

Should be a great one to watch. Two teams with a lot of pride and winning history over the years. Being close as they are to each other, bragging rights has a lot to play into this games as well. Good luck to both teams on having a fine season this year.

I heard Waginger was not going to play this year. I heard he was going to focus on Basketball. Who will play Quaterback role

He was at Physical fitness this morning and He looked to be in great shape, faster than I remember him being for some reason.

The thing that stuck out most yesterday was the size of these kids. What in the world has these parents been feeding these guys? They are not only big but they can also run well.

You are absolutely correct, big boys that can run. I look for the Tigers to have a huge line that can move and an experienced backfield that proved what they can do last year.
They return 1641 yards rushing at 7.2 yards a carry and 21 TD'S that includes (4 Punt / Kick off returns Tres Wilkes) from last year.
Someone that impressed me yesterday was Michael Lawless, you can tell that laying off from Basketball last year to concentrate on Football has made a big difference. You can tell He has hit the weight room hard and He didn't slow down any the whole practice yesterday. He is going to be a terror on Defense.
