I would say I mostly agree with your rankings so far other than Fredericktown. I am not totally sold on them yet. I don't know if they are as good as last year, and I felt Oak Hill was a much better team than them last year. Right now I think Oak Hill, Ridgewood, and Minford are the three best teams in this Region. I think the Oaks have one tough game left (Minford) while I think Minford could lose 2-3 games, as they have the toughest schedule left by far. Ridgewood has a few tougher conference rivals left (Garaway, Strasburg, Malvern, Newcomerstown) but they SHOULD run the table. Hard to tell about them too, as they have not been tested yet. Looks like a fun year shaping up.

If MC beats Caldwell, then they finish no worse than 8-2. Their only loss last year was to Magnolia, who they play again this year and is currently undefeated. If they beat Caldwell, the Magnolia game is the only one I could see MC losing the rest of the year.

CG cant even come close to beating Oak HIll so they better hope they dont make it!! Or anyone else!! 1 and done! Oak Hill and Valley has the best shot and the Buckeyes after watching them last week arent bad either!!

NY's playoff lives come down to the next 2 weeks period. 1-1 They are in 0-2, they are out, 2-0, they host week 11.

Big games this week in Region 19:

Caldwell @ Monroe Central: As far as playoffs go both teams could lose this game and still be alright for the playoffs, however the loser would have to win out in order to make it. I don't see MC getting in with less than 8 wins, and I'm not sold that Caldwell will get in with less than 9 wins. They got in with 8 last year (barely) but not sure they will get as many secondary wins OOC as they did last year.

Bishop Ready @ Nelsonville-York: Buckeye fans don't have to be told this is a big game as is next week's. A 7-3 N-Y team is on the bubble. 8-2 and they could host a game. N-Y has a lot of good point games to help them down the road, but they won't be easy. This isn't a do or die game for them, but it goes a long way in helping them host a game. Plus a win over a good D5 Bishop Ready team sends a strong message to the rest of Region 19.

I agree on your assessment of Caldwell's playoff chances. Newcomerstown and Barnesville should at least equal their win totals for last year, but for now, it doesn't look like Beallsville or Rosecrans are going to match their total. Add that with the fact that Frontier probably won't match their win total from last year either, and 9-1 is what Caldwell needs.

Beallsville should win 4 this year, but Rosecrans I have at 3 wins down from 8 last year. That alone is worth about 2 pts off the final points. And yeah, Frontier screwed the PVC this year by scheduling such impossible ooc games. They're not going to pick up extra points for those that beat them.

The winner of the Caldwell/Fort Frye game will more than likely get in, but either one will get smoked in the first round. The only team from the PVC that has a chance to make noise in the playoffs is MC. Caldwell or FF will get a rude awakening if they get in and are matched against teams like Fredericktown, Oak Hill or Ridgewood. It will be very similar to the beatdown Caldwell got last year from Fredericktown.

Nobody knows how good Fort Frye is because they have simply not played anyone. Its unknown but they have done everything right and have crushed everyone on the schedule that in scrimmages and in games. The varsity have outscored the opponents 155-0.So for you to say they would get crushed by all those teams how do you know???We will soon find out how good they are.The team is a lot different then it was last season after Robinson went down. After they lost him all they could do was run it the middle.New team, new year, and new QB.Most of the teams have not even seen Watson play qb.

BTW I'm not saying they can hang with power programs just saying factionally we have nothing to tell us how they will preform because they have not have a chance to play a good team.Ill tell you this I saw Caldwell vs MC film and FF is a lot better then Caldwell.Heck FF ran one play and had multiply backups in and still beat Caldwell last season.

We shall see, because I think if FF beats Caldwell and their only loss is to MC, then they will get in at around the 7-8 seed. When does FF and Caldwell play?

With FFs weak OCC who gets in a 9-1 FF team or an 8-2 Caldwell team?

It would be close because Caldwell is getting good points off of Newcomerstown. They could very easily be a 6-7 win team. But I still think the winner of FF/Caldwell will have the best shot.
