With the inductions in Canton just around the corner, I was wondering what 5 players not currently in the Hall of Fame should be there according to the posters. Here's my list to get things going.
1. Cris Carter - 3rd all-time in receptions (1101), 8th all time in receiving yards (13,899) and 4th all time in receiving TDs (130). It's a joke that this guy has been eligible for 2 years now and not in.
2. Ken Riley- one of the best corners in the league while with the Bengals in the 70's and 80's. A 4 time All-Pro who ranks 5th all time with 65 career interceptions.
3. Chuck Howley- Cowboy linebacker who was a 5 time All-Pro in the 60's and early 70's. He was the MVP of Super Bowl 5 and Tom Landry called him "the greatest linebacker in Cowboy history".
4. Jim Tyrer- former Buckeye and Chiefs offensive lineman who was All-AfFLevery year from 1962-1969, and was named to the All-Time AFL team. The circumstances around his death (murder suicide with his wife) may keep him out.
5. Bob Kuechenberg- great lineman for the Dolphin powerhouse teams of the 70's. Bob played in 6 Pro Bowls and was called by HOF defensive lineman Bob Lilly "one of the best offensive lineman I've ever played against."
That's my list to start with, interested to see what others think.
Top 5 players not currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Re: Top 5 players not currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Ray Guy. Only punter drafted in the first round, three super bowl wins and he was a huge factor in the XVIII super bowl.
He punted 1,049 times and never had a punt taken back for a TD.
The NFL has long recognized he was the best punter, they just need to formalize it and put him in the HOF.

Carter will get in, and yes it is a joke that he is not already.
But...when you rely on media to vote in the Hall of Fame members, and your a huge jackas$ to those media members during
your playing carrer, then you can't blame them when they decide to make a point.

This should be a no brainer, I don't know what they're waiting for. :12224785inside wrote:I agree with Ray Guy. A certain game changer, with his kicking skills.
