Re: Browns wins in 2010
The beauty of it all is no one expects ANYTHING from the Browns. So they could sneak up on some teams and if they don't, no big deal. Nothing is expected so anything good is an over-achievement. When no one gives them a chance, they surprise. When folks expect a lot, they disappoint.

I think the Browns could win 7 to 9 games this year...I'm not a Mangini fan but there just might be something cooking up on the lake and it's not Lebrons house burning down.

I did say 6 but I agree, the Browns are a different ballclub from a year ago. They could surprise some teams if they are not taken seriously but it will not be easy. And they need a long-term fix at QB.Orange and Brown wrote:I think the Browns could win 7 to 9 games this year...I'm not a Mangini fan but there just might be something cooking up on the lake and it's not Lebrons house burning down.

Browns ex qb anderson has done a great job with cards. Anderson named starting qb and there trying to trade leinhart.
Re: Browns wins in 2010
There have been reports that the Cards like their 2 rookies Hall from BYU and a QB from Fordham. Anderson plays well in short periods of time but can not do it for long periods of time. One good season is passed him. The Cards do not have all their WR's. Many times with Warner would just throw the ball up and have WR go get it. Seems like Leinhart's off field has turned off the Cards management and he was drafted before they got their coach. Seems like Coach W just never liked him. Where the Browns last year would have been happy to have had Leinhart's passing stats.
Re: Browns wins in 2010
Not saying that logic makes sense but it is what it is. They may have felt they could talk Warner back. Whatever the reason is the Cards have a lot of talent on offense. Without a proven QB on the team. Much like the way the Browns were last year.
To say they were not happy well they have never gotten behind him saying he is the man to led us. He has never seemed to have support if that is his fault or not. Maybe he needs a change of teams to achieve that. He was a star at USC but that is the past he needs to do more on the field. I have not watched the Cards play this preseason but the highlights have shown him taking some hard hits which effects most QB's. Which is one reason why Warner did retire. He took some hard hits over the last few years.

Re: Browns wins in 2010
If he is 6-10 or worse, he goes. If there is a work stoppage and he is 7-9, he goes. If the QB situation deteriorates, he goes. If they can't win more than one game in the division, he goes. Only a .500 season or better and unquestionable improvement in play on both sides of the line can save him. Holmgren can suppress his itch to coach only so long.

The biggest problem the bengals had all them years was NO QB , people like blake, klinger etc etc.gahs4ever wrote:^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Yeah well....I remember very well the IN MARVIN WE TRUST; WITH THE JOHNSONS WE WIN slogans when Lewis was hired about seven years ago. We feel the same way about Holmgren and Hackert. Proven winners and football men in our front office for the first time in over 20 years. I dont know if Mangini is the answer or not; too soon to tell. But if he isnt, our management wont sit on their hands for years like the old Bengals did with coaches like David Shula. Holmgren and Hackert are to us what Lewis is to the Bengals.
Dont look in your rear view mirror. Someone might be catching up to you sooner than you want.

Re: Browns wins in 2010
I hope that the Browns can improve on their 5-11 record from a year ago.......realistically I think that 8-8 is possible, but any improvement will largely depend on how Jake Delhomme plays.......the teams that struggle in the NFL quite often do so because of poor QB play.......I think the Browns have upgraded their roster, and should be respectable talent wise in several areas, but if Delhomme is not making plays, it will be very tough to win games. To go 8-8 the Browns must win their first 2 games......at Tampa Bay and then home vs. Kansas City.

DirecTV had the NFL Sunday Ticket open yesterday so I got to watch the Browns. Thanks a lot! I would've enjoyed cleaning the gutters more!

Re: Browns wins in 2010
The NFL was nice enough to try and gift wrap the Browns 2 wins to start the season to avoid a possible 0-16 year but they can't even seem to get that right....

Can't stand the Bungals. They won't beat Carolina and i doubt they beat Buffalo. Start figuring out that number one pick and get him signed before the draft. I'm sure you'll sneak up on someone to avoid the goose egg but thats about it.
