Browns wins in 2010
Re: Browns wins in 2010
Speaking personally, I have followed the Browns since 1958 and have had little to be positive about since the late 80's when my heart was crushed again, and yet I've stayed the course. That is one thing I share in common with faithful Bengal fans who similarly have had little to be positive about since the franchise began.
Speak for yourself, im proud of what the bengals have done since 1968 when they started. WHO-DEY baby.
You cant speak for bengal fans being a browns fan.

Wallace and Clausen will probably be starting week 3. My McCoy vs Pike game on Nov 28th is looking more and more like a possibility :aaaaa77ironmen1987 wrote:that will be decided in November when Carolina travels to Cleveland. By then you may be watching McCoy vs Pike the way the qb's are playing and the lack of points being scored....seofan_via_dublin wrote:The Commissioner called, he wants to know if you want him to put the Browns on the clock yet.

Browns fans were all excited to have Jake Delhome, and Pathers fans were all excited to get rid of him.
Now both teams are trying to figure out what went tragically wrong.

The Browns continue to search for leadership which i thought Jake would bring them. He can really drive fans crazy with some of his mistakes but is Carolina better without him? Is Cleveland better with him?seofan_via_dublin wrote:Browns fans were all excited to have Jake Delhome, and Pathers fans were all excited to get rid of him.

Cleveland struggled last year because they didn't have an offense that could keep their defense off the field long enough to catch their breath. No leadership in the huddle. They brought in Jake but still look like the same Browns.
Carolina on the other hand thought Jake was the problem. They had a strong young line, awesome RB's & LB's, and one of the top secondaries. They shipped him out and they have looked awful so far with the Bengals coming to town this week.
Is Jake the problem? Could it be that both teams need a complete overhaul in their coaching staff? I'm more inclined to believe the latter...

Afraid i have to agree when it comes to Anderson. Browns are better off w/o him. Jake wasn't brought in to lead the team into the future but to plug a hole while they put in the pieces to move forward. Whether or not McCoy has the goods to be an nfl qb remains to be seen. It's funny how many of the qb's taken early in the draft struggle while guys the 'experts' set and tear apart on draft day end up becoming starters.

I still say the Panthers have alot more talent than Cleveland but 0-2 is the same any way you cut it. If they can get the running game back on track they'll be a much better team. They turned the ball over at least 3 times in the red zone against Tampa. What Clausen brings to the table remains to be seen. Things will be much more clear for both teams by the time they meet in week 12 or qb's might not be the only thing changed by then......

Hey, the Packers need a running back. Lord knows we got some and would just waste their talent anyway. How about Davis to the Pack for Matt Flynn? He could run Holmgren's West Coast offense. Daboll is a dead duck!

You're hanging on a wing and a prayer, the wing is broken and you're praying to Buhda

With all those Browns (both relocated and expanded) in one stadium, I imagine the sales of Pepto should go through the roof

Re: Browns wins in 2010
Browns looked better but there are no moral victories in the NFL. Browns are 0-3. I thought Wallace did a credible job at QB and Hillis is for real. But they disappeared in the 4th quarter again. And why are you trying an all-or-nothing pass on 3rd and 2 with 5 minutes left on the clock. Get a first down, move the chains and keep fighting. One other thought; Eric Wright will still be smoldering when the plane lands in Cleveland.

Browns all most won it. They did a good job. It will make the game next week with bengals scary.

I'd say two more years below or at .500, then the improvement sets in about the time other teams in the division get suddenly older.

Re: Browns wins in 2010
^^^^ I agree with the sentiment that teams can and do improve rapidly. But you need a better-than-average quarterback to do that. IMO, the Browns don't have that on the roster right now. I just don't think McCoy is the answer at any time. I thought I heard where Peter King said he had the makings of a good franchise QB but I just don't see it. So...we will have to draft one and hit it out of the park or trade for one. Or, attract a really good QB free agent and no one is coming to Cleveland by choice. I just don't see the breakthrough in the next two years.

Re: Browns wins in 2010
My post on McCoy was September 30. That is an oldie but goodie. That post was before the Saints and Patriots games. I've seen enough since then to think we need to surround him with some talent and give him some targets to throw to. I wouldn't even dream of wasting a pick on a QB this draft. I'd maybe like to get a quality veteran to back him up (Hasselbeck comes to mind) because I think Delhomme is shot. Now I'm still not ready to annoint him but I'd let it ride and see how he develops. My biggest concern is the defense right now. We got good young DBs, we need some stud LBs if we are going to successfully run a 3-4. I DO NOT want them to switch back to a 4-3! Bottom line- there are some pieces in place we can build on if the front office stays intact but the Browns live in a tough neighborhood. With the Rooneys and Ozzie in this division, it's tough to get ahead.

In another post, gahs says,"it has nothing to do about the front office", Hmmmmmm
