Week 1- Vinton County @ Unioto

This has been a pretty good matchup the last couple of years. The Vikings have to pick it up from the Fort Frye scrimmage if they expect to give coach Burleson his first win at VC. Haven't heard much on Unioto...anyone have any inside info?

Not to take anything away from FF but VC had a mix of 1st and 2nd string in the entire 1st half..Heck our starting qb didnt take a snap untill the second 2nd qtr. I wouldnt put too much into the '3 first downs'. VC will be ready to play and it should be another great game against Unioto.

Last year the Shermans won 21-12 in a turnover fest that came down to the final quarter.

2008- VC scored 20 points in the final quarter to pull away from Unioto 39-19.

The Shermans looked good last night.

Believe it or not this is the type game I have seen the Shermans lose in years past.
The Shermans had a 12 -0 lead and the Vikings in a fourth and long situation. Two plays, 3 penalties and what seemed like 40 yards later the Vikings was in the Shermans Red zone and looking to score and take the games momentum to their sideline when the Shermans D manned up and stopped the Vikes from scoring.
For me that set the tone for the entire second half blow out.

This is a Sherman team that could pull off an upset or two.
