I said it in another thread, I don't think VC has much trouble till revional final. I'm not sold on anyone in the east district.

The Vikings are the real deal. One of the strength of this team is team work and believing in each other. They all seem to have the green light to shoot or take the ball to the rim . Their coach has confidence in their shooting and decisions on the court. They do not rely on running their offense around 1 or 2 players . They play to win and you can tell they are united and look for greater things than individual honors . Yes they have a very good player in Bartoe but they have others that can step forward and they seem to not loose a step . Coach Combs and Staff have done an excellent job with this group . I sure the people of Vinton County are proud of the Vikings as they should be . Good luck going forward from the Chieftain Fan !!!!!!!!

This is almost a mirror image of last years game at the Convo but the teams have switched. Last year it was the "U" that hammered VC in the foundation game and was coming to the Convo big favorites. This year its just the opposite. VC won big earlier and are the favorites now. I think VC wins by 15+ but history tells us anything can happen at the Convo.

I think what sets VC apart from most high school team is that they can shoot the "3" but don't rely on it. If their shots aren't falling they have several players who can slash and get to the rim (Bartoe, Jones, Speakman...etc) and draw fouls. Then they kill you by 1000 cuts. Its when they are hitting the 3 ball they are almost unstoppable and win games by huge margins. Im still waiting for a game when all of the "big 3" goes off hasn't happened this year that I can think of. Seems like one or maybe two will have a big game but not all 3.
