Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
This year the Burg is looking for revenge for what happened last year on Ironton's home field. Both teams this year are good, but of course only one team can win and only one team will lose. Both teams have there flaws where one is better than the other team also. I dont care about about all the differences between these two teams. It is Ironton and The Burg and it will be a dog fight till the end.

Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
Oh whatever. I was at the game last year and it was no blowout. In fact logan didn't even win that game up until the very end. I know that not one the Ironton players are afraid of Logan. So get down off your high horse and get over it. I know that Ironton has. And the players of Ironton had absolutely nothing to do with the schedule change. So don't think that they ducked anything. They are just kids playing the games that are given to them. So get a life and stop trying to start trouble.

Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
Coming from a Burg fan, I think the tigers take us...Our offense will produce, but the D looks pretty weak, especially the secondary...Ironton puts up some high points. But, I am rooting for the BURG.
Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
If the Burg offense can at least keep the time of posession close, I think this one could come down to who has the ball last or who has the least turnovers. The forecast is calling for a high of 79 and low of 55 on Friday, so it should be a great night to start the season.

Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
well, i cannot wait to see this one. heres my prediction , 29-14. ironton. why the odd score, because apparently we are having kicking problems. so i see a possible missed extra point er 2. a couple 2 point conversions maybe. i see wheelersburg scoring twice and hitting their pat's.

TGDF: you are right I was joking around, it is all in fun and my friends from the Burg give it to me just as much as I do them. Both Schools have great programs and thats what makes it fun. If it was a cake walk it would not be worth doing.
Buckballs: I have predicted an undefeated season for the TIGERS for the last 45 years. Now I know that may not happen but I sure as hell want it to and there is no reason it can't. Anything can happen with any game that is played, that is why they play them because what looks good on paper may not work out on the field.
Go to the game, relax, cheer for your team, and have fun.
GO TIGERS GO!!!

What stands in the way of your undefeated season this year will be this Friday night.............
DA MIGHTY BURG !!!!
We've been told that the left side of Ironton's line is going to be their weak spot and we can capitalize on that ALL NIGHT LONG !!

Good luck to both teams and may the best team DA BURG win.
Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
I still stand by my prediction 56-6. I'm giving the Burg 6 points since it's their officials. If it was at the Tank I would say 56-0.
Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
you must not be too confident in your prediction though since you didn't take burggrad77 up on his deal a few days ago.....

Ironton - 56
wheelersburg - 6
I honestly think this Tiger team would beat most College Division III teams.

Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
Maybe I'm out in left field, but watching Ironton the last couple years in the playoffs makes me think their very good, but not anything like the juggernauts that they were back in the 80's and 90's. They don't have the individual talent or the depth that they used to. They have a great system and one of the best coaches ever, but they are very beatable. I don't know whether Ironton fans are trying to convince themselves or everyone else that it is 1990 again, but it isn't. There are no Jermon Jackson's, Walt Delong's, etc, etc playing there. Listening to Lutz give the interview on Ironton.com it seems very clear that he thinks the same. Even though they still have above average talent at alot of places, they still have alot of holes to fill.
I believe Wheelersburg will be better this year than what some are expecting. They have a good line, backs, system, and a good coach. They have alot of pride and will compete. But the size and strength of Ironton will win it in the second half. I would say it will be a good ballgame though.

Re: Week 1 - Ironton @ Wheelersburg
This years team definately has the talent, heart and team chemistry to play with ironton- maybe small in numbers but definately have the skilled players needed to produce the "W"- GO BURG
