Watching HS Football Online...

Post by Neutron Man »

Wasn't there a TV station that broadcasted Live or Delayed Games?
I think it was Live online, and delayed TV.

I vaguely remember them being at the Ironton/Burg game last season.
Is it still running? Is there a schedule of games if so?

I'm assuming no one knows?
Wow!

I was thinking it was something like the Zone or around that.

I think the TV was delayed, but online was live.

WQCW (I think it is) used to show games on a tape delay basis; don't know if they will this season.

In the past, I know they did an Ironton vs. Wheelersburg and an Ironton vs. Portsmouth game.

For Ironton viewers, this is our cable channel 9.

And yes, OHSAA is very strict about live broadcasts of their members' games.

If I'm not mistaken, the TV broadcast you are talking about is the Sports Zone. I have watched several games from last year from Time Warner on Demand. They also had the ones broadcasted by Valley, might I add did a pretty good job.

Thanks EastBeast06 for the compliment. We have put a lot of work on putting on a quality production. With that said we are planning on going at it again this season. You can see our tentative schedule here: http://www.valleyls.org/highschool/inde ... Itemid=111 (Note: the Coal Grove home game is not on there, sorry)

I say tentative because everything is still very much up in the air. We have a meeting with the kids today. If we get enough to show up we'll be on the air Friday. My gut feeling though is we'll be OK.

As for OHSAA rules, yes they are very strict. No one can live stream Friday Night football, unless you are a school AND you have been given permission by the OHSAA to do so.

Once we have everything squared away in a day or so I'll post more about what we got going on here at Valley.

I think it's watchthezone.com, but I'm not sure. I don't have the link on this computer, but I do at work so I'll post it from there later tonight.

Wosn out of Lima has done tape delay games and live games since the mid 90s. They have a free stream on their website as well as a local tv station that does your ordinary programming during the day and all hs sports the rest of the time. When I was playing it was just a game of the week rebroadcast at 11 and a extra half hour added for sports on the Friday night news. Now they basically do an espn for northwest Ohio with camera crews at 20-30 games a night. They show highlights during there tv show and between the online and local channel they show 4 rebroadcast games a week two Friday and two Saturday. To have something like this down here would be amazing.

I can give you a long list of youtube channels that broadcast games live and you can rewatch after I’ve watched at least 60-70 games this year

Me as well. This is one of the bright spots with COVID. Lot of games just on YouTube. I’ve even seen ppl jump on the bandwagon and add some old games that were not there before. Love watching the sr. vs st. Ignatious champ game from 96.
