Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
I think this one will be pretty close. Being at Alex, I would give the edge to the Spartans but I wouldnt be surprised either way.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
This game should be won by Alex in easy fashion but I wouldn't be surprised if it's close being week 1 ad with the Spartans replacing some key players from last years squad.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Would love to see the Meigs County team come out on top, but I will have to give the edge to
the Athens County team.
Alex- 28
Eastern- 14
the Athens County team.
Alex- 28
Eastern- 14
Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Eastern should win this game.Just another tvc hocking beating up on tvc ohio seems to be the norm anymore

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Last year the Ohio beat the Hocking 5 out of 6 games...if you count Belpre and Wahama then the TVC Ohio was 10-0 vs Hocking teams last year.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Nary a discouraging word from me on this one. I'll be there to see it for myself. I have a very good idea of how this one is going to play out, and I'm keeping it to myself. I saw both teams play multiple times last year, and I know what they lost and I know what they have returning. One team lost alot more than the other, and the one that lost the least in terms of who is returning, will win.
So, anyone with a little bit of deductive reasoning and intelligence should be able to figure out who I am picking........
Looking forward to Friday night, I'll be watching the game with LEROY.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
Way to schedule up Alex!
Eastern is going to ba a lot better than folks give them credit for this year, but why in the World would you drop a D-6 school just to pick up a D-6 school? It would be different if they dropped Trimble to pick up a D-6 power.... I still say Eastern wins by 6, all the alexander fans will say Eastern Cheated, and the rest of us will sit back and laugh!
The Eagles will have a heck of an (O) this year so look out.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
First game of the season can bring out some factors (conditioning) and level out some factors (execution and assignments). That aside, I think the difference in the Alex-Eastern game will be line play and special teams. I pick the Alexander Spartans to win. Good luck to both teams, and see you at the game.
Just my humble opinion: Schedule is just one factor in building a program that's successful over time, not just after one or two winning seasons in a row. I think anyone who's been through a successful program over time would agree. Alexander isn't an automatic W on the schedule anymore, but they haven't won the TVC-Ohio yet, and have yet to beat Athens and Meigs in league play. Work on the program first--get the feeder going from junior high and build some tradition, and then build the schedule.

Re: Week 1: Eastern @ Alexander
I heard that Alex wanted to play Fed Hock week one to keep the Spacer Trophy going, but the Hock and River Valley weren't willing to switch. Might just be a rumor though.....
Should be a good game in Albany on Friday night. Last year's game was close. Eastern didn't show up in the first half and Alex let them back in the game in the second half. I believe this game should be close too.

GO EAGLES!
