Portsmouth was just to big and to fast. I have to wonder how many kids have been held back though. As nice as that Stadium is you can't see a thing from the visitors in the evening for the Sun, left with a head ache and not just because we lost.

Great Job Portsmouth 7 & 8th squads. Really proud of you all!!! Looking forward to the rest of the season. Just speaking on the 7th grade team, I don't think that anyone was held back. As a matter of fact. Our 7th grade team is the same team from last year that lost to the "same" West team in the Pee Wee game last year. Unless some of them were held back...

Portsmouth just flat out beat the West 7th grade team and size and speed was the major factor in doing so. And yes it's the same West team that defeated Portsmouth last year and I was thinking not one, but two times as well as the majority of the other times thru peewee. It's just amazing how Portsmouth developed in a years time they were huge compared the West team. Although it doesn't mean they were held back, but I would guess that a few of those boys were late kindgarten starters. I don't have anyone playing on the West team but have followed them thru pee wee, but they have a good group of boys and all I say is keep your head up West boys and keeping working hard.

Im pretty sure that some of those 7th graders played for other teams in Peewee. They were from Ports already but I think it was the Robinson kid who played at East and another one or two played for the Rughriders. Good to have them all back together.

Why is it that everytime teams are beaten by kids bigger and faster than them they automatically assume the kids are held back? These kids are in the 7th and 8th grade...When kids win, pat them on the back and tell them "Good Game". When they lose, pat them on the back for getting out there & playing, tell them..."You'll get 'em next time". these kids are learning life's lessons...parents just need to sit back and enjoy watching their kids...

It's all good. I guess... I enjoy watching my son play win or lose. I teach him to be humble and practice good sportsmanship, to be a leader, and to work hard at it because that's what's going to take him places. As far as the kids being older, whatever is whatever... at least 4 of the kids who start on both sides of the ball are 12 b/c they played little lg. all-stars this year. And if West has beat us the majority of the time in Pee Wee. That just shows how hard our boys have worked this summer and how good of a job the coaches have done. Good Luck to you all in the rest of the season ;-)

Thats funny I was wondering the same thing about West a couple of years ago when they went 10-0.
Turns out about 7 or 8 seniors graduated at age 19!!! I didnt hear any complaints then.

PJHS has some very nice athletes at the 7th and 8th grade levels.......not only are they good in football, but hoops as well. I am really looking forward to seeing these kids playing at PHS in a couple of years.

Whos the Portsmouth JR high coach thats always dresses different than the other coaches??? I was just wondering because he was standing behind the team while there starting a play and was sending in signals, but the team had there backs to him. My son ask me what he was doing and I didnt have a answer for him.

Somewhat true Mr. Dirt, but not that many, still played 3 juniors and 2 sophmores. But lets talk this year, and P.S. you started it.
When this years senior class played at Ports. in 8th grade we got waxed from all the older kids (held back). But we did'nt complain,
the kids just worked harder. I know for a FACT that Ports. will graduate several 19 yr. olds this year, But it sure as heck did not help
in high school......did it? West holds kids back we go 10 and 0.....Ports. holds kids back, they go 6 and 4!!!!!!
