Week 2 Portsmouth (1-0) at West (1-0)

West had the same situation in points last year. We lost to Portsmouth and after a few wins we were looking good for the playoffs until we lost to valley, Minford, and burg. All of those teams will win a bunch of games this year and we play all of O V C teams except coal grove and river valley so you can almost count how many points you get there when they all play each other. If West goes 9-1 we're in.

Portsmouth still has probable losses with Logan and ironton to go with a very possible loss at wheelersburg. If Portsmouth looses Friday it's gonna be tough.

I'm not so sure that West beats Valley,Minford, and Burg. If they don't win this week they may be looking at a 6-4 season again. West should how ever win the OVC this year LOL!

I think we will. But truthfully if we can't win 3 of 4 against Portsmouth, valley, minford, and burg; we probably don't deserve to make the playoffs.

This is what i don't get okay Wilmington had some very strong backs very similar to Peneldton not as explosive or quite dynamic but they were power work horse backs. They also had a better secondary then i thought. I feel this game wont be a whole lot different. I do however feel the west secondary is not as good as Wilmingtons. This will be a hard tough game for both teams. I just dont think West has the speed to contain royster and evans. We will pass alot more this week. Nothing like going over to the worst side and coming away with a victory. Hope the officals call a fair game lol we all no were it's at. Portsmouth-28 West-20....keep the trash talking going !

I have to agree with Trojan59, looks like the Trojan D is better against the rush this year. Wilmington did have several big good backs that the Trojans were able to contain quite well. Were any of them as good as Pendleton? No, but I don’t think West has the D that Wilmington had.
This will be a very close game; Myers will get his numbers, so will Pendleton. It’s going to come down to big plays. I look for Royster and Evans to hit some big returns that will either go for touchdowns, or set them up. Special teams will play a big part in this game in my opinion, with that being said I think the Trojans have the better special teams unit that will put them over the top in a close game.

Im thinking both teams are pretty close in talent this year! Portsmouth has Myers and West has Pendleton (ranked #2 in nation i believe). WEST will win this game because i think they will want it more! Im thinking they will try and copycat BURG's score last year against the Trojans. Myers is good, but hes no good on the ground when West bursts through the line and sacks him? West will lose to Minford and Wheelersburg this year for sure and maybe one other if theyre not careful? Portsmouth will lose to West, Wheelersburg, and Ironton for sure this year and maybe one other if they are not careful? Good Luck to both teams this year! Hope you guys prove me wrong except for the BURG games, LOL! remember, this is just my prediction like everybody else has so dont get too upset!

To beat West, Portsmouth will have to make fewer mistakes vs. the Senators than they did vs. Wilmington.......I still think that the win vs. the Hurricane is being underrated.......Wilmington was a very physical football team, and the Trojans held their own.......the PHS defense had an outstanding game.

Win this game and our Trojans will be off to a great start in the Region 15 playoff standings!!

Portsmouth defense (against wilmington) i thought was very good against the run, Offense needs to pick it up so that Josh has time to throw the ball and the receivers have to get open, if that happens could be a very good game.

West year after year play no one besides Portsmouth and Wheelersburg. How can a program think that they are improving when they cant win there league , let along make the playoffs. I think West, Notre Dame and Oak Hill has been inhaling that smell from the sewers of Jackson and Portsmouth far to long to think that they can win this weekend.

west is 7 point favorite just because they're at home, this should be a very good contest between 2 very good teams.
the outcome could be determined, by whoever makes the fewest mistakes and capitalizes on the others.
should be a good old-fashioned slobber knocker, and real entertainment for the fans, GOOD LUCK to both teams and may it be injury-free.

Geez, I didnt want to post on here, but I have to now. Pwest has a very good oline and they will get better as the yr goes on. Ptown has the offense to put up some points if the Oline gives Meyers some room to throw. All comes down to defense and offensive capabilities. pendleton, can he get his yards. Meyers, can he get his yards. Defenses beware, this is gonna be a good one!! Wish I could be there, but the Oaks are calling!!

Thank you, Thank you very much....wouldnt it be fun if Ironton, Wheelersburg, Portsmouth and West all played each other this year? Anyway, I just poke @ The Burg but they will be fine, still think ya getting beat by Portsmouth though. My prediction and I'm sticking to it, Ironton vs Portsmouth week 10, both teams @ 9-0! :122245 Maybe not but it is too darn poetic to pass up so there it is. This is how its gonna be just by seeing it for myself. Portsmouth will have a hard time stopping west's defence. They are strong and will be in the backfield in seconds. If the portsmouth QB cant get rid of ball quick than he will get sacked. No time to run against their blitz. Than pendelton is there to finish em off. And west's offence, well I hope the portsmouth d line likes cleat tatoo's Cuz pendelton dont care. He will step on ya and over ya! And pendelton is not that team. They all work together.
