Most of these posers calling for a blowout by the Burg, don't know much football. Oak hill is legit this year, no doubt about it.

Offense - Slight Edge to Burg. Why? Ball control. Burg will keep it for a long time with their running game.

Defense - Edge - Slight edge to Oak Hill. In Burg's scrimmages they were suspect to the passing game. They will contain Hale pretty well, but may struggle against the pass. Oak hill defense fast, but hard to stop the three yds and a cloud of dust.

Special Teams - Edge -even - The winner of this category will have to play mistake free. No block kicks, etc.

Coaching - Edge- Burg. Coach Woodward is 19 and 6, but also has proven assistants who grew up in the tradition of pirate football.

Intangibles - Edge - Even - Oak Hill with a talent team and at home. Burg with a solid team and tradition.

Burg 28
OH 21

both teams. I think that oakhill will come out on top because of the return starters. the burg lost some good players, but oakhill returned 26 starters. they have the best qb of the two, and the best back field. this is just my opinion, but me and 9 other guys will probable have 10 different ones, so i will just weight till friday. good luck to both teams.
Maybe I'm just stupid, but the most starters any football team can have is 22 if you have 11 different kids on offense and defense and I don't know of any school the size of Oak Hill that can do that.
While your theory is right, yeah there is technically only 22 starters in a football game. But here's where theory is thrown out. Why can't there be different starters each week. I don't really know of a team in any sport that starts the same exact players every week. So YES, there could be 26 starters on the team!

Hey there could be 4 guys on special teams that aren't on O or D.
Not sure but wouldn't that be...... 11 + 11 + 4 to equal 26 ;-)

Ok, the Reds are ticking me off!
My kid didn't have enough pop in his bat, but I am sure he would not run the bases or play the way some of these pros are.

This will be a good game. oak hill has a good team this year. And there playing at home. But burg will be ready. if burg give's the qb to much pressure and shut's down the pass game burg will win. But if they cant contain the pass i see a long nite for my pirates. Anyways good luck to both teams. Go Burg Go!

After reading all these posts, I think a number of burg posters are being very obnoxious about their predictions based on a number of non-pirate and non-oak hill posters predictions. This is gonna be a close game. I know Oak hill is loaded, thats why i think they scheduled this game. We all know that they cant compete regurlarly with alot of teams around scioto county. But they did last yr and thats what counts. Took ridgewood to the end in the playoffs and have alot of those players coming back. And they got a home game vs burg. Does anyone remember the last game between Burg and the Oaks? was it at Burg?? Anyway, the Oaks have a great team, we all know that. Burg was a big ? coming into this season. They played well agianst Ironton but LOST. Maybe, shouda, coulda, they LOST. Burg gained alot of yards, made some good hits, passed well in situations, played defense like we expect. But we LOST. Oaks started slow against Chessy, but roared to a victory. That is a mark of a spread team and a team that has good defense. And a running game I might add.

My keys to this game are, do not look for Burg to have the same defensive setup like they had vs ironton. We all agree on that. Burg will put a totally redesigned defense against the oaks. oak hill is not Ironton. Secondly, this will be a 4 qtr game. I really believe the coaches from burg will get the right ppl in the right positions quickly enough to keep pressure on the Oaks offense, and on the other side of the ball, i think the oaks will do the same. They HAVE the atheletes! But have they had to do it before in so many game situations in the SOC1 like Burg has had to do it in the SOC2, and also itwon and Ptown? Does it matter? I think its does when it comes to big games like this. If the oaks have the talent on all sides of the ball like Ironton has, they can win this game, and maybe easily. But I dont think Burg is hurting for atheletes like everyone has talked about. I saw some jrs out there on defense doing some great hitting and getting to the ball, and last yr I never knew they existed! LOL. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, i know, i am rambling. This will be a great game

This will be the 18th matchup in history between these two teams. The series is tied. 8-8-1. Burg won the last four in a row and the oaks won four in a row before that. Did not know this until I was looking through the program, and thought I would share with you guys. Lets go OAKS!

Good luck to both teams. I believe that if Oak Hill runs Hale more than they throw it , it will give them a better chance of winning.

Wheelersburgin this one another close and physical game though for the Burg.
After A tough game with Ironton the Burg showed they are for real this year.
17-13 Burg oak hill gets a early lost but will recover from it this year to stil make the playoffs and wheelersburg shows that the Ironton loss didn't lead to a let down.

I follow alot of Oak Hill sports and "cocky" is something I have NOT seen! Read some posts on here and tell me who is "cocky". I'm glad Burg thinks they are going to go up to Oak Hill and run all over them! Go ahead and think that!

Also, a lot of people think that Oak Hill just scheduled Burg because they are good this year. This is not true, didn't we schedule you a few years ago when we were not good for a one and done. We had an opening and so did Burg so we scheduled it.

That is what happened this year as well. Week 2 last year we had River Valley. That contract was up and they did not want to renew so we needed a game. Insert Burg
Week 4 last year we had Trimble. That contract was up and they did not want to renew so we needed a game. Insert Wellston.
Week 9 South Gallia is entering the TVC and were totally making over their schedule so there was no room for us. Insert New Richmond.

Many will say that we just beefed up our schedule because we are good this year and for computer points, but that just doesn't add up because we were just fine on computer points last year with our "cake" schedule. We added the teams on our schedule because we didn't have any other options.

Big questions is......... How will Burg playing a physical team like Ironton compare to OH playing a cupcake like Peake?? If everyone is healthy, the Burg wins this one, if they are beat up then OH may have a chance. On the other hand, the Burg has been in a fight already this year and OH hasn't. Burg's best defense may be the ground game and ball control. I don't think OH has a chance of controlling the line of scrimmage. Good luck Coach W!
