Congrats to the Oaks on a convincing win. Burg has some defensive woes to address and they had better address them real soon! Hope to see the Oaks in week 11 and above. Burg has started out 0-2 5 times since 2002 that I can remember and only made the post season once (could be wrong). hope this yr is Twice!

burg has real defensive issues to address. corners have killed them the first two weeks. it would be interesting to know how they scored out the past two weeks. i don't remember if you can end up with a negative number but they had to be close.

Don't ever let a chance to put points on the board pass you by. Ground pounding doesn't always work. Good teams live by this. Some teams in Southern Ohio are starting to get it. But not all of them. That's why I feel like the teams from north of Chillicothe have an edge on the teams down south.

Burg has lost to 2 really good teams, maybe the best teams in their respective regions. Burg can not afford to lose anymore; however if they run the table, they would probably have the points to get in the playoffs. This week will tell the tale of Burg's year. Must win for Burg and the Trojans.

I think if you are going to call anyone out you should probably talk about mulitple factors- 1) cant give any quarterbacks as much time to throw the ball as they have, 2) Line has to step up and help stop the run and the pass, 3) ends have to put pressure or somebody has to step up with putting pressure on the quarterback, to many situations to blame the corners.

The corners do have to tackle a lot better, if your going to play off and give them the short stuff you have to come up and make that tackle after the catch. I don't think the corners ever did come up and make a tackle in the open field the entire night. At best they whiffed and were able to turn the wideout back inside or someone else was able to run the wideout out of bounds 10-15yds down the field. The backers have to get outside to make plays. Oakhill's coaches and players pretty much toyed with the burgs D, they did what they wanted when they wanted. Anyone with speed will give this burg D fits. The slowest D the burg has put on the field in a long time.

I have been to alot of Oak Hill football games over the years and to me this was one of the most enjoyable games ever. The environment the fans from both sides provided was awesome and the game itself was pure excitement with neither team giving up. The athletes and coaches showed amazing sportsmanship during and after the game, perfect friday night entertainment!

Burg was having success running the football against Oak Hill early, then Burg called a bootleg going left (I don't think it was a busted play).

Oak Hill grabbed the Burg QB 5 or 7-yard loss, and the offense never found its rhythm again. Until that point, Burg was making it pretty interesting. Going straight ahead and off-tackle, Burg was moving the ball.

Oak Hill played defense faster than Burg played offense.

Agree fbnut. Not calling anyone out. Just one factor in a lack luster defense. It takes 11 and all 11 can do a better job. Lets hope they can turn it around.

All polls are pointless. Notice how many teams south of Columbus? Exactly.

I believe the Oak Hill Oaks' 29-22 victory over the visiting Wheelersburg Pirates last Friday night will go down in OHHS history as one of the football program's greatest victories of all time. Indeed, it's more than a sports story. As they say, it's "the talk of the town."

Seriously??? Beating a Burg team that has a lot of questions on defense and is down a little this year is one of the greatest victories of all time??? Doesn't say much for past Oak Hill teams does it.

Lack of defense is obvious when you are in the 3rd week of the year, searching for the first win.

Before AND after the Ironton game, most Burg fans still thought they were the cat's meow. Now you say they are down this year? Losers limp?

If you go back read the posts the sensible posters were saying the defense was going to be suspect. It was probably mostly the kids and posters not actually from the Burg saying they were going to dominate again. Losing all the skill players we lost from last years team was going be detrement to the Burgs success. The line has experience, Schank has experince, but not very many others.

I'd agree that polls aren't absolute indicators of future success. Here's another one, substantially different from the first:

DIVISION V POWER POLL
1. Youngstown Ursuline (2-0) Previous: 1
2. Anna (2-0) Previous: 4
3. Oak Hill (2-0) Previous: 3
4. Cuyahoga Heights (2-0) Previous: 5
5. Patrick Henry (2-0) Previous: 6
6. Lima Central Catholic (1-1) Previous: 7
7. Fredericktown (2-0) Previous: 8
8. Northwood (2-0) Previous: 9
9. North Union (2-0) Previous: 10
10. Ready (2-0) Previous: NR
DROPPED OUT: No. 2 Hamilton Badin (lost 26-25 to Cincinnati Taft)
KEEP AN EYE ON: West Jefferson (2-0); Kirtland (2-0)

That has to be a JJ Huddle poll and that makes it even more worthless than the AP poll.
