I went to both school...does that mean I'm a super genius?!?!? hahahah jk This is a football thread not a "who's school is better thread" so lets talk football! Good luck to both teams but I'm gonna have to stick with my alma mater and take Symmes Valley! Good luck to all my "Buddies"!!!

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
If Chesapeake plays Symmes Valley anything like they played Wayne in the second half they win by at least 2 touchdowns...
Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
but honestly how do you know that they are better kids than the peake kids? that is rude and ignorant to say. Kids will be kids. the peake has some exceptionally fine kids as well 1longtimeviking
Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
Some of you from both sides of this argument make both schools look bad!!
I won't bore you with my (SV grad) IQ, ACT score, college GPA, or my oldest child's but they are all well above average and I owe a lot to SV for that.
Chesapeake is also a good school. I'm sure that most of us would agree that we'd rather go to either school than many larger schools in the state.
I am also willing to admit that Chesy is a better football team this year. Sure, they are 0-2 but they have played well considering their competition. If the Vikings come into this game taking them lightly, it will be a huge mistake and they will lose.
From the opposite point of view, however, I believe that SV is a better team this year also. Sure, so far they have played a weaker schedule. But I have seen better play from the team this year. They are playing more as a single unit than I have seen for some time. Sure, Chesy has dominated this series that we consider a rivalry, not our Super Bowl. But Chesy escaped by the skin of their teeth last year, so go ahead and take SV lightly this year, please, really.
Now can we all please stop trashing each other and discuss this like intelligent adults?

Hey, I didn't mean to shut the thread down - just trying to elevate the banter to a more civil tone. You can be true to your school without being nasty to the other guy for being true to his.
Go Vikings!!

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
I'm with ya SVDad!! I have been to both of these schools and they are BOTH fine schools and all the people at both schools are fine people IMO! I would love to see a game just like last year, although idk if i could take that kinda pressure again!! haha! I can't remember the last time Chesapeake came that close to Wayne! I know when I played we never did! So its not gonna be a push over game for Symmes Valley. But the Vikings are gonna be pretty darn good too! i watched them play against Southern and they looked very good! Unfortunatly i was unable to make it to the River Valley game but from the score and what i heard the Vikings did great! Hopefully both teams have worked on their feild goals and we can make this a short game! haha Good luck Vikings!!

Ok I am sorry for that last comment...what I don't agree with is that he said if we would play cpeake the first two games we would be 0-2. Last year I I think SV was the better football team... Did we choke? You know it!!! Not gonna lie at the start of the season I thought SV would blow out Cpeake this year... But after seeing the score of the Wayne game it made me nervous... I think it will be a hard fought game and I wish both teams the best of luck!! Again avalanche sorry for the last comment that was immature...

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
All of this talk means nothing, we will find out who is the better team on saturday. SV has very good skilled athletes and a more athletic line then we have had in the past few years, I do not know much about Chesapeake this year, but they always come to play. Everyone at SV always makes a big deal about "Peake week", but the fact is that this is just another game on the schedule. So vikings, just go out and play hard, and minimize your mistakes, this will be a good points game if we get the win.

Wowwwww
Someone needs to lower the testosterone levels...................................
This is HIgh SCHOOL TEEN-AGERS that we are talking about.....
If everyone is so educated and on the up and up then why not
get on here and talk like you have some common sense.
Educated or not doesnt make u or anyone else a better person.
Talk respect.. talk knowing that alot of our childeren are on here reading this material.
There is nothing wrong with taking pride in your school, or your community.
When did Chesapeake start playing Newark Catholic every year?
Chesapeake is OVC
SV is SOC
Oak Hill is SOC which means we play the oaks every year.....
We are not going to play schools that you play....and it actually depends on the sport....
Look at other programs in your school ...such as your softball program or volleyball....
Depends on where that program has been and how successsful it is as to who they play...
SV softball program does play the columbus schools on a yearly basis....Chesapeake doesnt....
Does that mean we are all so mighty and you are not.....no it doesnt.. it just means some
programs are on different levels throughout each division.
Take your SOC volleyball teams .....Good example is BEaver Eastern.....try putting them on your big
volleyball schedule and see how many victories u come up with.....they are entirely on a different playing
level....They are SOC also.....
I love football ,
I love our community.....
And I love CUPCAKES........I will see you all at the game SAturday......which by the way I sold my OHIO STATE tickets so
I can go see our pooooorrr little soc sv boys play some football.....with the SECOND smallest ovc school....

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
I know this doesn't relate to football, but Iam4OSU, your post was pretty stupid. There is no way that SV softball is on a higher level then Chesapeake. Well, not in the last 4 years anyway. Sure, you all may play a school or two from Columus, but Chesapeake doesn't play teams like Coal Grove all season. They played the best teams in West Virginia and Kentucky. They played Huntington High, Cabell Midland, and Huntington St. Joe (who has top-notch pitching) from West Virginia. They also play Ashland multiple times a season and Montgomery County, both of whom make it to the state tournament each year. They don't play a weak schedule whatsoever. Chesapeake volleyball, on the other hand, stinks to say the least.
Enjoy your cupcakes while you watch Peake beat up on the vikings. :D I know I will!

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
Actually there will be cupcakes and other baked goods. There is a fundraiser for a Chesapeake graduate who is battling Leukemia.
"A fundraiser is being held for Hannah Henderson, Honor Graduate Class of 2009. Hannah was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia a few weeks ago and has been in Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital for treatment. She is in need of our help and this benefit is to help raise money for her expenses.
Donations will be taken at the door. Orange balloons will be sold and after the invocation and before the start of the game, the balloons will be released in support of Hannah and her fight against leukemia. Cancer support bracelets will be sold along with a bake sale. Please come out to support Hannah.
A trust fund has been set up at City National Bank, Chesapeake Branch. 1012 Rockwood Avenue, Chesapeake, Ohio 45619. Donations can be made to the account: Pamela McComas c/o Hannah Henderson Trust Fund.
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND HELP SUPPORT HANNAH AND HER FIGHT!
HEARTS FOR HANNAH! IF YOU HAVE A HEART........GIVE IT TO HANNAH! "

Re: Week 3 Symmes Valley @ Chesapeake
It's simple guys
SPEED KILLS
1st qa SV 7-0
2nd qa SV 14-7
3rd qa Chessy 21-14
4th qa 48-14
Symmes Valley has no track program they just lift. That's only going to do them good for so long. Peake will be in better shape and going to be a lot faster. So you will see a complete game change 2nd half.

Way to go symmes valley. Way to make us look stupid on this web site. This is why I quit going around our ball fields cause of ignorant people like this. Game nights is the only night I go out there now and I still wonder why I go cause of all the crazy talk there like what's on here. And as far as the talk of this team being better then the 10-0 team don't think so. You line this team up against any team from 99-2005 symmes valley team and they would lose 10 outta 10 times. You all have got the big head by starting out a 2 and 0. Remember parents what you say reflects your school and team. On the other hand sv will have to come into this game level headed and on straight. Peak is hungry for a win and has always been in this situation ever since I can remember. But good luck Vikings it's going to be a tough one for you.
