Irishgold,a little late in the day to stir the pot now. It's going to be a great night for high school football!! With that said EAGLES20 Falcons 14.GO GET EM GUMPH!!!!
That was the final. Eastern had a 14-13 advantage with about 5:15 to go in the third quarter. Wahama had the ball at their own 20 when wingback Isaac Lee went in motion toward the Wahama sideline. He took the pitch from Trenton Gibbs and turned up field and did not stop until he entered the Wal Mart endzone. The extra point was no good and the White Falcons led 19-14. After the KO, Eastern fumbled on the first play with Wahama recovering at the Eastern 14. On the next play, Ryan Lee scored from 14 yards out. Tyler Kitchen kicked the extra point and it was 26-14. After the KO Eastern took over and moved the balll well through the air to about midfield. That is where Matthew Stewart picked off a Brayden Pratt pass and and returned it to about the Eastern 5 yard line. Wahama scored a couple of plays later to make it 33-14 with a Zach Wamsley EP kick. There was now 1:01 to go in the third. Wahama's last score came on a 46 yard TD run by Anthony Grimm and a busted EP kick resulted in Isaac Lee hitting Elijah Honaker for a two point conversion. Both coaches substituted freely after that and the game ended with the 41-14 final.
The first half was back and forth and Eastern took a 14-13 lead into halftime.
Eastern played well for two and one-half + quarters but Wahama capitalized on the turnovers
and won the game in front of a parents' night crowd.
