I am probably one of the only people who has had the fortune(errrr???? maybe some other word) of seeing both of these two teams in person this season. With that said, I am no expert but IMO it will be a very close game. Chillicothe has the advantage in the athlete, speed category and definately has the coaching advantage in a big way. I will give Chillicothe the special teams advantage by a mile as well. Both teams are on the small side but neither is tiny. Athens has the advantage in experience and recent success with the kids that are actually on the field right now and they are not running an entirely new system this year. The advantage they get from the new system thing is not nearly as big as it would have been in week 1 or 2 though. Both teams have been wildy inconsistent showing flashes of good, bad, and ugly. If both teams play a full game it could be a great one. Athens has some kids that like contact. I don't know about that in a lot of Chilli's kids. Not saying it is not there. Just that I have not personally seen it yet.

Overall, I feel that if one team jumps on the other early then that team will probably win but if it is a close game at the half, I believe Chilli will win. Although Athens has been a better second half team for much of the season, so have the Cavs and as I said, I think they have the coaching advantage and they will make the better adjustments and coaching points at halftime and throughout the game. Also, the special teams advantage will be so great that it could be a game changer on more than a few occasions. Athens can return the punt but has no kicker, punter, or snapper that has any business playing on a middle school team. If Chilli comes after a punt they should block it. They also have the return men to take one the distance(as does Athens) so I think that that phase of the game and the coaching advantage will swing this one in Chilli'c favor in what could be a very good, fun, hard-hitting game.

Go Cavs

Strictly from a Warren followers point of view. If Athens gives the ball to their runningback often, o,well very often, aw heck. 75%-80% OF THE TIME. They will win games and could have won maybe three already. Warren had no real answer for him. Then in OT he becomes the forgotten man. This guy got you there, pound him at the defense. He is a legit back. Athens should let that guy run till his legs fall off. If they do, they have other weapons that would become a potent part of the offense. They can win this game. Good Luck to the Bulldogs. Athens 28 Chilli 21.

Chilly will win fairly easily. They have played good teams tough for at least a half this year.

I definately agree with the statement about giving it to the RB for Athens. The kid is not great but he is very good. DEFINATELY their biggest weapon offensively and would be a starting RB on a lot of teams in SEO. He single handedly got them back in the game last week and they got away from him late. One question I have is this. I hate to get on kids and call them out by name on here but last year Tre Harris was talked about on here like he was the next big thing and that he was some sort of monster Peyton Manning or something with the ball in his hands. I have not seen anything from this kid that says he is anything better than a slightly below average Varsity QB. Did he just have great receivers that made him look good last year? Did he just have a bad few games this season? Was the competition last season just so bad that it made him look great? Is there some other reason? Again, not tryin to put down the young man but I didn't know how else to ask the question?

Here's a link to a thread on Ohio Chatter. It has a picture of some of the damage from the tornado at Athens High School in The Plains.

Just an awful situation. My thoughts are with those who have been affected by this.

The Plains was hit by a tornado this evening and Rutter Field is damaged pretty badly. Press box damage, concessions stand damage, 3 light poles down.

This game can be heard at 970 WATH-AM in Athens, with Jon Corum and Anthony Sylvester on the call. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:15.

You can hear the game online at http://athensi.com (the WATH AM link is on the right side of the page).

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by last night's severe weather.

Thanks, and good luck to both teams.
