Congratulations first on the win and secondly on coming out focused and ready to play a game after what all of you and our community have gone through in the last couple of days. Great job showing the heart and charactor we all knew you had. In all my years as a Bulldog player, alum and fan I've never been prouder of a team or what was able to be accomplished on a field than what you were able to do tonight!

Will man up. Athens is a better team than Chillicothe. For the steps forward Chillicothe took the last 2 weeks they ran backwards tonight. O and D lines are terrible. Athens RB s and especially the QB were impressive. Athens O and D line were much better than Chillicothes. Heard Hinton on radio say both fake punts were called on field by a player. Also said line coaches need fired. Congrats to Athens...A win well needed and deserved.

My hat, shoes, arm, and legs go out to Athens on a good win, especially after all they and their community has went through the last couple of days! Eventhough yes you guys beat my beloved Cavs I give you guys a standing ovation to come an hour away and play a game when I'm sure their minds where at home....I will say this though Chillicothes fans brought canned goods and other things to give Athens in their time of need! To whoever planned that in a short amount of time should be patted on the back....if Chillicothe would ever block on "O"they probably would be a lot better because the of the speed they have, but until they do block the season will continue to be LONG....with being said though Cavs fans be very very patient because the classes are coming that will change this whole football program all the way around....thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Athens.....GO CAVS!

Congratulations to Athens on their first win of the season. I made to Hernstein Field Saturday and was extremely proud of how the fans and community offered support to the beleagured folks from Athens. I sincerely hope everyone in Athens is ok, and that it does not take much time to bounce back emotionally and financially. Athens is full of wonderful people, good luck and God bless everyone who was affected.

As far as Chilly goes, I thought they took a step backwards Saturday night. Athens came in and took it to Chilly and had no answers in the first half. It did not appear to be the same team that went toe toe with Ironton and Big Nut the two previous weeks. It seemed Chilly could not stop the interior penitration in the first half. The change to the big fella at center in the second half seemed to help, but still too many mistakes. Missed assignments by o-line killed the CAVS. Hopefully the Bonner boy will be healthy again, and 67 can help elsewhere on the line this coming week. Execution will beat talent nine times out of ten. Keep fighting CAVS, remember you are still 0-0 in your league.

Cavs will be ready for this Friday night, they always have a special motivation when they meet my Trojans. Good win for Athens, this should light a fire for the rest of the season

I agree. 67 seemed to light the fire. when he played the 2nd half they moved the ball much better, Oates and Whittaker can both run.....just need some blocking. Passing game is not good. Teams will load up the front with 7-8 defenders and dare Cavs to run. Defense has no answer to anyone who wishes to run the ball off tackle. Ironton ran for 200 plus, Big Walnut for 200 plus, HT for 400, and now Athens for 200 plus. Chillicothe has given up over 1000 yards rushing already. And how many delay of game penalties do we average a game ????? Get the play in...and if one of the players do not know the formations get him out. And what is with 2 fake punt calls ( back to back possessions in 1st qtr ) that didnt work and gave Athens points and momentum. Both fake punts from within our own 30 yd line. Last question then I will stop rambling. How many games a week is an individual player allowed to play. We have freshmen who play 1 or 2 quarters in varsity games, then play the entire freshman and JV game. That seems alot to me. Especially for a 14-15 yr old kid.
