i agree with you siderman. and it's not that the playoff teams don't know us , it's just once you get by say the second round, everybody is as physical as you. and they have their own rich traditions, very good post.

Westfall only has 1 win against Ironton, but they have been competitive at least 3 times. Bellaire has gotten the best of Ironton over the years. New lexington 2 years ago wasn't very big. Heath and Coshocton last year weren't really big either. The common factor on all those teams is they were able to hold up defensively and used their speed to take Ironton out of their comfort zone. But I would say outside of maybe Coshocton, that none of those teams were physical teams. They just have good athletes and because of playing good competition, aren't intimidated by Ironton.

I see your side tiget bait. Also, if I was willing to give wheelersburg that much credit at 1-2 based a lot on their history, then I should give Ironton even more benefit of the doubt at 3-0. Ironton has been the best program Southern Ohio has to offer for quite some time now and that continues to be the case. I think sometimes the Ironton faithful get a little caught up in the I-town mystique and let the warm and fuzzy feelings take over when talking about other teams in the area playing them, but I'll also be the first to admit that I see everything through red and gray glasses and favor the SOC II heavily. I would love to see Ironton scrimmage Minford, for us it might be the best team we would see all year long, and I think we could give the tigers some good work as well. The next 2-3 weeks are huge for seeing who is really good and who is really not that good. I wouldn't be suprised if the poll now looks very different in 3 weeks from top to bottom.

ironton is 4th in their region right now. if they beat 4-0 ashland, they will either climb quickly or fall just as fast.

On a side note, anyone read the power poll in the Portsmouth Daily Times? If I hadn't published mine first I would've been charged with plagiarism. I keep looking in the mailbox for a check from them for using so much of my poll, so far no luck.
