Congratulations, Tigers. I actually got to attend this game and I was very impressed. We have improved by leaps and bounds. I really think this team has the potential to make a deep run in playoffs.

great game by the tigers tonite. it appears that we are beginning to hit on all cylinders. youngun are growing up and we appear to be improving week to week. hopefully we stay healthy. i thought things kinda snowballed for gallipolis after the interception by lawless early in the 2nd qtr. i didnt like the play call to throw the ball there. gallipolis seemed to be moving it ok on the ground in only their 2nd possession of the game. i thought if they could have went down and scored there maybe it could have been a little bit different but ironton was just a little too much. good luck to the blue devils, i hope you win the seoal. tigers keep working hard, got another tough one next week.

Before this thread disappears, I wanted to say again, I'm so impressed with the people from Gallipolis. They just really get behind their kids it would seem all the way. Whether they're winning or losing, they always bring such a great crowd to the game and they're always classy. I wished all schools the Tigers play act like they do

From what I understand, Brian Warnerr tied Keith Whetzel's TD record for 1/2 game

Gallia seemed to play one of their games from last year when things just didn't go right

Ironton brought their A game.
Gallipolis did not, but even if we would have Ironton was the better team.
Ironton's offense exploited The Blue Devils weaknesses and we were not able to adjust.
In the first half the GAHS offense turned the ball over on three consecutive possesions to help doom their fate.
Good luck to both teams the rest of the year, stay healthy.

I'm not surprised about Ironton winning, but I am surprised at how ugly it was. GA wasn't ready for the level of intensity that Ironton brought to the opening kick.

Ironton had us scouted well and explited our weakness consistently running to our defensive weakside. That combined with the three consecutive turnovers in the 2nd quarter made for a first half blow out that we couldn't recouldn't recover from.

I hope that GA is able to recover their confidence and go into next week finding what they need mentally to compete for the rest of the year.

Ironton looks like they're poisded for a deep playoff run, but I think they need a bit more top end speed at the skill positions to win a state championship.

Good luck to the tigers going forward.

you all are all right, i'd give anything to have a student section like that at tiger town. the blue devil fans stayed the whole game, regardless how lopsided the score was, ironton fans were leaving at the half. i love staying and watching the reserves getting substantial playing time. that is very important for the younger fighting tigers, i've always admired that in coach lutz, when he could put 70 on someone, but allows the young tigers to grow. i hope gallipolis wins on out from here. and i definately hope they tag logan. they have rode the blue devils very hard over their recent losses to them. now it seems the shoe is on the other foot in the seoal. i wished the tigers were still i it. but frankly i think their schedule is much more demanding this year. and still playing alot of the seoal schools.

I agree Ironton needs a bit more "UMMPH" To put up another state title run. Theyve got a tough schedule left and staying healthy against the likes of Plain City Jonathon Alder and Cloumbus Hartley, and Jackson will prove vital... Lutz kept 2 major players out and rotated in some young backs that got some touches, just to not give away too much scouting to alder for next week, and whomever else is watching!!!
Tyler Hager, another leading fullback was kept out due to late game cramping, and i know Lutz has a specialist working on him for that conditioning element. They have 3 young backs with great size and speed that are explosive they havent used much of the season, and let get a "few touches" and each gained well over 7 yards each per carry last night....
As the season moves on, I bet they will be rotated in and out more, and if they stay healthy I hope this is the "ummph" needed.
Also, did you notice that wilkes, just kinda let warner have the spotlight and do the work? Kinda nice to go up against an undefeated team, complete 3 passes out of three, give that quarterback the confidence with his receivers, and to take one to the house himself over 30yards for six points. Waginger is gaining confidence, and boy oh boy has this team come a long way since the second half against chili........
Each week another player comes out of nowhere to have a huge game for them... It is their best performance as a tiger each time too, but in the scheme of things, its not a one pony show. That huge effort of someone stepping up each week, just solidifies the unit, makes them stronger, and brings a confidence to a squad that hasnt had this much skill since we last wore the big hat... one game at a time, without injuries... As i said, we have huge games coming up, and we will need everyone in the game healthy and ready to play and come out of the game healthy, if we do that, win or not... we will show up.. I think worse case scenario would be 8-2 and a home field opener for post season.. but i wouldnt be surprised if the tigers keep rolling, and its always one game at a time.. I know the players have that mentality, and as fans we get excited and look to the what if's of games to come.. You can only live in the moment of NOW!!!...
If we happen to lose a game or two, so be it.. we will still show up.. The region is loaded and we will have a battle to get out of it. If we do, there are some great teams like Kenton(yes they are back with a quarteback named mauk... they have one loss to strong Clinton Massie... Speaking of strong teams in the division, clinton massie is there, kettering alter, hartley, coshocton, alder, portsmouth west, elyria catholic, amanda etc... soooo....good job tigers, and good luck gallia.. fun to have the evening off each friday(gotta love my boss letting me change my schedule around for a high school football game in OHIO, all the way down here in florida..)..
ALSO, DID ANYONE ELSE HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE GAME WEBCAST ON YOUR COMPUTER, BUT NOT ON THE IHEART IPHONE APP? i LIKE TO LISTEN ON THE COMPUTER SO I CAN TEXT TO A FRIEND ON THE SIDELINES OF THE GAME, BUT THE COMPUTER CONNECTION WAS NOT EXISTENT, AND I HAD TO RELY ON THE PHONE APP.. THANK GOODNESS FOR TECHNOLOGY....

It Was Horrible! Maybe we should schedule schools we can beat every week? Reality, this is a team from a division below us. Almost forgot what playoff football teams look like.

Anyone think we make the playoffs?

Interesting observation. I didn't know that the running back was calling the plays?

C'mon man, if the Blue Devils win out, they should be in. Ironton is the best team they will see in the reg season. Also, if they make it, I am sure they will be improved by then. The Blue will learn and build from last nights experience.
There is no quit in The Devils.
