Re: Plain City Jonathon Alder (4-1) @ Ironton (5-0)
i remember heading to division 1 lancaster about a decade ago. we were listening to the gales coach, on his call in show. he talked about how ironton were river rats, played nobody, and just beat up on little weak river town schools. they were ranked at the time i believe like 3rd in d1. and the previous week had lost to somebody like cincinnati moeller in ot. it was lancaster's homecoming they had floats made , the whole 9. by halftime lancaster had nearly nothing, and our score looked like a basketball score. in the restrooms at halftime, which were all on the lancaster side. oh by the way we have restrooms for the alder fans on your side, or ours. anyway the folks from lancaster were saying , who in the h&ll, is ironton, where are they from, are they division 1 too. this is that kind of team, so have your fun. you'll likely leave tanks memorial stadium with a different perspective of ironton football. and most likely get harder tonight than you've ever been hit. but i hope you all have a safe and enjoyable trip down and back, i hope to see an amazing playoff atmosphere type game with no injuries. let da games begin.YTB.

I saw where Alder has two big games left one with wash.C.H. and the other with St.Charles is Ironton a big must win game to keep from having to win out or can they lose this game and one other and still make it at 7-3.
Just a question not wanting to stir any trouble up?

If Ironton does prevail, Alder goes down again, it would appear they would be out of the playoffs. The teams they have beat, just havent won many games...

i have no idea. and i'm sure some nutjob will take this question and intercept it, and run the wrong way with it. our task at hand , is just to play this game, 1 play , 1 series, 1 quarter, and 1 half at a time. and see where the chips fall.
Re: Plain City Jonathon Alder (4-1) @ Ironton (5-0)
I agree someone will take it out of context but I just wondered I think Ironton has the speed to compete and win this game they are showing to be a really good team with the way they are improving. You're Tiger Bait wrote:i have no idea. and i'm sure some nutjob will take this question and intercept it, and run the wrong way with it. our task at hand , is just to play this game, 1 play , 1 series, 1 quarter, and 1 half at a time. and see where the chips fall.
A loss don't kill Irontonton but a win would be a great thing to see.
Just curious what a loss does to Alder is all.

true Ironton knows all about kicking woes lol but they do well with 2pt. conversions though just hate to rely on those to muchtjhtygeverve wrote:If Ironton does prevail, Alder goes down again, it would appear they would be out of the playoffs. The teams they have beat, just havent won many games...

I would personally like to challenge every Ironton fan to make The Tank the loudest it has been in quite some time tonight. I mean from the pre-game until after both teams are off of the field. This needs to feel like a playoff atmosphere. Let's show Alder why everyone fears Ironton and playing at Tanks Memorial Stadium!!!!!!

The Lancaster game was in 1986. Ironton won 41-14 and that was an ironton team that went 10-0 and was named Poll Champs in AA (for what that's worth) That Tiger team lost to another "river rat" team in the first round of the playoffs, St Clairsville, in Tanks Memorial Stadium.

Since the 2008 season (my senior year) Ironton Football is 14-1 at the Tank. Only loss coming to Logan in the 2009 season.
