I don't know if Minford can shut The Burg's running game down, like they did Oak Hill's. But I like our odd's alot better now. I know Shank is a very good back, and probably runs just as hard. It will be another challenge for the Minford Coaches to work on.
One things for sure, I really liked the way #3, #27, and #5, ran the ball for the Falcons Friday night. You know that #15 is always going to get his yards, but the other backs really ran hard, and made some big plays. Our O-line is really improving, you can see them getting better every week. It's great to see such young linemen work so good together. I know they will get tested Friday, I just hope their ready!!

I think Minford will win, but I gotta root for Burg here. They need this win a lot more than the Falcons and I hope they play like it this weekend. No offense to Minford whatsoever. Most of their fans are class acts.

Hoping that Minford can win and set up an undefeated showdown next week but I have a feeling that the size of Wheelersburg is gonna cause them big problems. Line play and Shankweiler are their strengths.

Wanting Burg to take this win, but dont see it happening.
Yes we had people out when minford beat us, but they are still a great team.
They would of stayed close still if we had slone and maynard.

So saying Minford 21-7

I honestly think Minford will be 8-2 at best, actually I see them at 7-3. One of the few times you will see me cheer for the Burg but we need the points and I actually think they are the better team,I guess we'll see come Friday night.
I really can not believe what you put on here, 65%, are you kidding me!! Are you going to stand in front of #32, and #78, and the rest of that team and tell them that with out #10, there just a little over half,,as good!!!!! The Oak Hill team I saw Friday, played their hearts out, and did not give up. Sounds like some fans gave up before the game started!!!
Way to stand behind your team, talk about :what have you done for me lately!!!!

i don't think that is a very good interpretation or representation of what he said, BTB. what you are saying he said would be the equivalent of me saying my Browning Light Twelve isn't any good and is the reason for not getting any squirrels yesterday............. when in fact i forgot to take any shells with me. i'm certainly not saying my gun isn't any good, i'm simply saying i didn't have any ammunition to fire in it. my gun is great and i'm not insinuation it isn't but it doesn't matter how good your gun is, and you can brag it up to high heavens but you're not gonna get many squacks if you don't have the item that delivers the killing blow.

good luck to both teams friday night and here's hoping for no injuries.

This game being played at Burg helps the Pirates but I feel Minford is just a better team and is better coached. Rival games are always close though. 21-7 Minford

As bad as I hate to say this, I think the Falcons will smack the Burg in the mouth this week. The Pirates have been way to inconsistent this season so far. They looked like world beaters against Ironton in holding that explosive offense to 4 first downs and 12 points and then went to Oak Hill and got ran all over by the Oaks offense and if not for Schanks KO returns would have gotten spanked hard. I didn't see the Fairland game, but I've heard the fumbled 3 times on the first possession and had trouble containing the QB all night and against Rock Hill they just looked like they didn't want to be there. Very lethragic and uninspired.

The defense is still a little suspect and still hasn't gotten all the bugs out yet. With 5 weeks under their belt they still haven't hit that stride you want your defense to be in and it sounds like the Falcons have. The offense can move the ball when they want, but Schank seems to be the only one getting a lot of positive yards. I did notice they tried to pass a little more on Friday so maybe they will try that some more this week.

If they come out and score quickly it might take Minford by surprise and set them back a little, but if the Falcons go up a couple scores early it will be Katy Bar The Door and could get real ugly.

Good luck Pirates!!!

Thats not working for me Burg grad! LOL. Are both teams healthy for this one? Burg will come out to play if it were all Freshmen playing the Falcons! Especially at home! Burgs running game is really clicking and the Dline is starting to make some noise rushing the passer. We dont have the speed on the dline like we are used to but we arent playing Oesch this yr either. We know this team and their coach, just like they know us. Comes down to turnovers, penalties and alil luck! GO BURG!!

Based on what? Give some reasons for a 14 pt win. I dont think either team has matched their potential so far. Too many ? at alot of positions. Minford has played a lessor schedule IMO but the Burg hasnt shined in their wins. This is gonna come down to the last play.

they showed me last yr their better coached. Don't get to excited by the burgs last 2 wins they came against teams that are not very good. I didn't think the burg played all that well vs Rockhill. Shut down shank on offense and stay away from him on D, 21-7 sounds about right.

The burg is the BURG reguardless of the records or recent play. This game could be the end of the season game with burg 0-9 and minford 9-0 and you still couldnt look past them. They are a good historical football program and all it will take is a few plays of them clicking and they will have it set the rest of the game that the W is theirs. But the falcons are deffinately on top of their game this year. reguardless of what any oakhill fan says the falcons deserved that win. Oak hill had zero lineman out that game and that is there strongest point imo and we controlled the line atleast 85-90% of the game. This will be a great game as it has been consecutively the past 3 years of being decided all by one score or one point.

falcons 14
Pirates 12

I think if Minford shuts down Shank and makes the other young men put up the yards, Minford will win.

Minford's D line and LB's put some real shots on Oak Hill's RB's. But the 3rd quarter it started taking a real toll on them. They didnt quit by any means, but they didnt have much or a spring in their step and after the handoff they were looking for where the big hit was coming from next.

I would expect much of the same Friday night.

Last year when Minford played West, Minford had 2-3 hats on the ball as soon as the RB's got to the line of scrimmage. Many times before they made it to the line of scrimmage. Friday night was a reminder of how well our D line and especially our LB's can play when they come out and want to put licks on people.

If Burg can battle up front, it could be a long night for the Pirates. If Minford's line play and LB play is as good as it has been, I dont care how well Burg plays up front, it will still be a long night.

Its like this fellas, if Minford keeps shooting themselves in the foot, on Wheelersburgs side of the field (like they did vs OH) then Wheelersburg will exlploit them. I know this about the Burg, they have big play capability, and if Minford doesnt sustain drives and score on most of their possesions then "the Burg" will hang around and make them pay. Im not completely sold on my Falcons this year, I think the talent is there, but i've not seen them put it together for a whole game against a good team yet.

This will be a hard fought to the wire game as the SOC II begins. I like the Falcons in a hard fought game.

It was called because the Minford receiver had wristbands on his upper arms. It was really tick tack, but then again, so is the official that called the penalty. I have never been impressed with him. He is also the one that called a 15 yd personal foul against the Minford kid for hitting the Oak Hill receiver on the tipped ball when the ball was still in the air and catchable!

I have seen him do alot of games, never been impressed.
