I'm takin Burg by 9 or less, In the past they just always make things happen when they need it. Way more disiplined the Minford, and that
comes from home.

Why are the Oak fans still crying? The game doesn't revolve around 2 or 3 players, there are 11 players out there for a reason!

Back to the game, this will be a tough one for my Falcons to win. They go into Burg undefeated, but Burg will look to knock Minford off tomorrow. However, I don't think this Burg team is as talented as in the last several years. They are very one-dimensional with Schankweiler (sp?) running the whole team. Schank left and Schank right won't work in this game.

Minford 28
Burg 14

wow !! how contradictory can you get in one post?
first you say that "the game doesn't revolve around 2or 3 players".......... then turn around and say that burg is "ONE-dimensional".

we beat oak hill without 2 of their most productive players but "one or two players don't make the team".

now we play burg and ONE player IS the team.

  you're beginning to sound like BADBOY (alias Bleeding Red).

"stop schank... stop the burg."

well, actually no, you DON'T see how good portsmouth is because you're too skeered to schedule them in the regular season there, RED. :122246 :122246

schedule them THEN put them down.

This is the way I see it, Minford who is ranked in the state polls, and a very talented squad, are going to Wheelersburg to take on and underacheiving group of Pirates (so far) who would love to turn their season around by beating Minford and getting alot of those points. And let I remind you guys of what a dog fight this game has been the last few years, anyone who says that Minford hasnt caught up with Burg talent wise and wins wise can kiss my hind parts!!! This is a great rivalry that should be enjoyed, and I wish the best of health to both teams.
I agree....well almost. To say that the Burg team this year has "underachieved" is kinda crazy. They lost to a VERY good Ironton team 12-7 and lost by 7 at Oak Hill, with Slone at 100%. Yes....their record is 3-2, but to say they are not achieving anything is not very fair to the kids.

GO PIRATES!!
Burg is Burg they are gonna give you everything they got, and they expect to win every game, but now Minford has had three good years, three playoff appearences, and an Soc championship...I agree Burg and Minford both have talent, Minford has always had talent now they have commited staff to help that talent shine. It will be a physical, probably low scoring game between two good teams

Bleeding Red wrote:Yeah when I played our teams were pretty sorry in high school. We lost more games than we won. Our baseball and basketball teams were solid, but our football coaching staff mainly consisted of ole Burg boys that really didnt get that much out of the players. The weight training program was not good at all. We had subpar facilities and alot of kids came and went as they pleased. Conditioning consisted of playing other sports. Then there were the kids that were just always out of shape and it showed during football season. We ran the most basic offense (full house) and basic defenses. We still held our own, more heart than talent.

WE lost at Burg my senior year something like 38-6. I say "WE" because it was still a team sport back then too. Jonathan Eaton and company were a great team. Far superior than most of the teams these days, thats for sure. I had alot of tackles.....from the defensive backfield. And that is never a good thing.

That is why I am so proud of Coach Daniels and his staff. They have really brought the program to life and are not looking back. The "W"'s on the helmets dont scare them. They get the kids ready, kids that are stronger and faster than my team was back in the day. And they win.

There is certainly nothing wrong with supporting that.

Wannabee? Maybe. But then again, every other person on this site who is out of school.....well......are wannabees. And I have a feeling that includes you too :)

actually, RED, MOST of us ADULTS have outgrown all that childish stuff but we realize that SOME like you NEVER will.
just keep on living vicariously through the kids.

Can't believe no Mad dogg, no burggrad. I mean come on, you guys claim to be Burg fans, oh wait calpreps is saying the Burg is going to get beat and they are always right.

And then there's Minford, riding in on their past glory of last year's SOC title and being a strong 5-0 whipping up on Meigs, but barely gettin it done against depleted Wellston and Oak Hill.

I don't know what to think. I guess we will see come 7:30 Fri night. The boys will battle it out and the victor will be proclaimed. Then all these predictions of 28-14 and 35-14 and 14-7 will be clarified. And then we can blame the effort, the coaches, the mistakes, the injuries, and the refs of why our team didn't win.

Burg wins. If not, I like my crow with gravy.

Go Pirates!
