Caldwell (4-1) vs. Beallsville (1-4)

Post by I drain 3's »

Caldwell improved to 4-1 last week using a dominating run performance against the River Pilots. Two players had over 100 yards rushing and the Skins cruised to a 39-16 victory. Beallsville is coming off a stunning overtime loss to Frontier, 42-48. For me, i'm expecting a performance similar to last week against River. Caldwell should have a decent size advantage in the trenches and I expect them to run early and often. This is one of those games where Caldwell can't overlook Beallsville though. Beallsville has been known to throw out all the tricks, so the Skins need to be prepared from the get go. The secondary will most likely be tested often this game, and that has been somewhat of a weakness for the Redskins. Keep the penalties and turnovers down, and don't give up any big plays and Caldwell should win this game.

I'll say Caldwell by 28.

Thoughts? Predictions?

I'd say Beallsville is probably down and out after what happened last week. Last year's game was closer than it should have been, but I think Caldwell learns from that, gets a good week of practice in, and comes out and wins by 4 TDs.

I know the Redskins are a run oriented team, but they MUST try and establish more of a passing game in the coming weeks. So far this year, it's been Sayre throwing to Morris and that's pretty much it. They need to get some of the other receivers involved and become a more balanced team.

If Beallsville plays like it did the first 28 minutes vs Frontier they win this one. If they play like the final 20 minutes v. Frontier they lose by 20 or more.

Jerrod Kinney is a true standout receiver for BHS. Kid catches anything his way. Dauch, Heath and Jarrett need strong efforts again and the Devils have to stop the silly penalties. Other than that, just run the ball when you're up 35 this time.

Hope the secondary is up to the task tomorrow. Caldwell can't overlook anyone. Have to be ready for the onside kick too, because you know it's going to come eventually.

Game went as expected. Caldwell dominated in the trenches and ran the ball all night long. First scoring drive consisted of nothing but running plays I believe. After hearing how Beallsville threw all over Frontier, I was expecting them to have some success with it last night, but they didn't ever really get it going. Rossiter had around 100 yards for the night and Snodgrass added something like 85 yards on the ground, give or take a few. Still waiting for them to become a more balanced team though. Also, not one onside kick from Beallsville? I definitely would have lost that bet.
