Re: UFC 121: Lesnar vs Velasquez
Prelim Predictions:
Madsen decision over Yvel. Madsen will just smother Yvel
Yang 1st Rnd TKO
Stout decision over Taylor. Should be a back and forth striking battle
Roberts 1st Rnd Submission. Roberts to explosive for the Joker to take
SpikeTV predictions:
Cote 2nd Rnd TKO.
McGee 1st Rnd Sub
Main Predictions:
Schaub 1st Rnd KO. This is on the assumption that Gonzaga keeps disregarding his great ground game
Hamill 3rd Rnd TKO. Hamill is a wrestler who can strike, Ortiz is a wrestler who cant even wrestle anymore. Very excited for Tito's excuses
Thiago Decision over Sanchez. Diego needs to get out of the 170 division
Kampmann 2nd Rnd TKO. I have a soft spot for Martin so I'm picking with my heart and not my head on this one
Lesnar/Velasquez breakdown:
Stand up advantage: Velasquez, he has become one of the better boxers in the HW division. Brock still working but he is nowhere near what Cain is on the feet.
Wrestling advantage: Lesnar, barely. Velasquez has transitioned his wrestling very well into MMA. Brock uses his wrestling and FREAK power to dominate in wrestling
Jiu Jitsu advatage: Velasquez. Kind of pointless because Brock will power out of any sub that Velasquez throws at him
Cardio advantage: Velasquez. The kid can go 100 mph all day long.
Heart advantage: Tie
With all that said I feel Lesnar wins 3rd rnd TKO I feel the size difference is gonna be the key (Lesnar will have 30-40 lbs on Cain come fight night). Velasquez has to keep this on the feet for him to win. But if Cain does win its by decision, Lesnar has a good chin and Cain couldnt put Cheik Kongo away despite hitting him 251 times.

Re: UFC 121: Lesnar vs Velasquez
Gabriel Gonzaga - Such a hard fight to pick because of Gabe. I'll probably eat a shoe for this pick.
Tito Ortiz
Paulo Thiago
Jake Shields
Brock Lesnar - Could go either way and Cain will be the hot pick with media and fighters. I was never a "believer" in Cain until the Nog fight. Prior to then he showed little to no finishing power, his finishes came off of relentlessness. And despite how worn Nog is, what he did in February would have KO'd anyone. Just fantastic boxing, speed = power, and then vicious precise ground shots to finish. Brock has shown not to take a shot all that well (Randy rocked him a bit, Mir caught him with that knee but subsequently ended up beneath the beast, and Carwin of course). So Cain's superior stand-up gives him a good chance to catch Brock and then end the fight with a flurry. I still like Brock. All it takes for this fight to end is for Brock to get a takedown and have anyone underneath him. And that'll happen.
