Re: UFC 121: Lesnar vs Velasquez
lesnar looked ??? wierd ? lost ? like he was drunk or drugged --not the same fighter I've watched a few times before. I actually had never been a fan a fan of his but was rooting for him last night. MD

I got 4 of 5 right on the main card. I didn't think Cain would have much of a chance due to him being significantly smaller than Lesnar, but I was proven wrong. Congrats to Cain, he deserves it.
Re: UFC 121: Lesnar vs Velasquez
Man I was wrong Brock looked like he wasn't ready to fight but I have to give Cain credit he fought a great fight

Same. I was 50/50 all the way up through entrances but kept going back to the weigh-in and how they looked next to one another.The_Legend_of_Northwest wrote:Way to go, I wish I didnt get caught up by Lesnar's size advantage.wellstonrockets wrote:Do believe i called this 1 wooo
I should have listened to myself. So Cain's superior stand-up gives him a good chance to catch Brock and then end the fight with a flurry.
Bottomline is that Brock doesn't like to get hit and is still very inexperienced. His freak athletic ability has got him where he is today, but he still has a lot to work on. Some of the fan over-reaction to both Brock and Cain has had me shaking my head. Especially with the post-Rogan "new era" that he's proclaimed and everyone jumping on that. Cain has shown holes in his striking against Kongo (who isn't THAT great of a striker and sucks on the ground), and even got tagged by Brock in this fight toward the beginning. Junior dos Santos has a very good shot at beating Cain, but just like Cain has shortcomings so does JDS. We haven't seen him tested in the wrestling department or able to use his jiu-jitsu from his back. And even if he gets past JDS he still will have great match-ups against others in the heavyweight division, and if there is ANYTHING that anyone should have learned by now is that everyone gets caught. So I'm not sure how long this "new era" will last.

Yeah, I've felt for awhile that Brock/Cain were just keepin the belt warm for JDS. But Cain/JDS should be the biggest HW fight in the history of the UFC.

Not bigger in the way of PPV buys but in the importance of the actual fight.

Your right about that. Before the fight Lesnar had a confrontation with the Undertaker. Apparantly teh Taker was drunk and hit on Brocks wife then when he figured out his mistake insteed of apologizing he insulted her by saying you arent my wife your too old. His wife for those who dont know is Michelle McCool who does look a little like Brocks wife Sable. So I guess Brock's mind wasnt on the fight after that then during an interview after the fight at ringside Brock walks by Taker and they stare each other down for a few seconds and Taker say wanna go boy of course Brock walks off. Im not saying thats why he lost, but that is why he looked distracted in the ring during the fight.
On a funny side note Chavo Guerreo (sp) and Christian Cage (WWE Wrestlers) commented on their twitter pages Eddie Guerreo (sp) beat Brock for the WWE title and Cain beat him for the UFC title which proves that Brock cant beat Mexicans. I thought that was funny.

Gabriel Gonzaga was also cut. I also expect Gilbert Yvel to be cut in the next couple of days
