South lost to Athens last friday at Peden Stadium. Not sure if that is a barometer for this Friday. Warren is having a running, crisis and a defense that seems to be somewhat out of sync., not sure what the story is there, maybe a mid season hickup, I hope. On Offense Jackson countered with a small quick nose guard and Warrens three yard splits had the center chasing, a mosquito with a hammer all night. Leffingwell took some hard hits and kept getting up, a good sign. Mays had some nice KO returns, as well. Warren can get back in the swing of the season with a good preformance on homecoming night. They will have to put up close to 40, IMO. And that is a realistic possibility. Keep on working Blue.....

The keys to this game will be how South can defend the passing game verse Warren defending the running game. Whoever does the best will win the game.

South lines up to attempt a 42 yard field goal with 5 seconds left.

No good! Warren wins!

Does anyone know what South's record againest Ohio teams is in the past several years? It seems like its not been very good even in their WV championship year , Marietta beat them.

That's because (not to start an argument) Ohio athletics is on a completely different level than West Virginia athletics. Not that every team in Ohio can beat every team in WV, but overall Ohio sports are on another level. Mediocre teams in OH are good teams in WV.

But in this game each team just tried to give the game away. South fumbled something like 6 times I believe, multiple times on long drives that could have easily been scoring drives. Warren offense looked good in the first half but in the second half they moved the ball in the wrong direction half of their plays. Warrior defense looked pretty out of whack the last few minutes of the game, taking out one of the leading tacklers in a last minute drive and having to call timeout after timeout to just get their defense set up. Bad substitutions and players all over the field. Didn't look like anybody knew what was going on at some points.

And somebody should tell the Patriot not to shoot the gun when they miss a field goal or an extra point. He shot the gun after both misses for some odd reason.

I thought Warren High School had a "zero tolerance" gun policy? There is no way a kid should be allowed to shoot a gun with live powder in it on school grounds if this is true. Ask some of the baseball and track kids from a few years ago about the policy, their guns were toys.

As for the game....UGLY!
