I was a mere 49! Ahhhh, those were the days!

Finishing up my 12th year at Merillat in Jackson at the same time the Ironmen were beginning their "golden years" of football. It was the year of the Upset at Memorial as the Blue Devils came from behind to beat heavily favored Jackson 14-13 and thus force a tri-championship with Warren; all three finishing 5-1 in SEOAL play! Warren had earlier slipped by the Devils 26-25 in OT in Gallipolis.

This being before the playoff expanded to 8 teams per region, GAHS' 8-2 record didnt get a sniff of the playoffs, but I had a lot of fun at Merillat on Monday morning!

Yes, those were the days!

I was 34 and remember that game well 4ever. Still can't believe we lost that one.
