If that is the end result, I would still consider it a successful season.

That is why the athletics at South Gallia suck...just a few wins a win in any sport and people feel like it has been a successful year.

Superman06,

We have another SG basher prob a guy that lost to SG somewhere down the road. SG has only had two good football seasons in the last 5 years that was the 06 team and the 07 team both making the playoffs other than that no one has said anything about SG having a good team. The Basketball program had about 4 years of good teams from 03 to 07. The 04-05 and 05-06 team both won sectional championships. The 06-07 team won 16 games also got shorted a game. So other than those few years no one has said anything about being successful. SG has been down since then, so a season where the Rebels are 4-2 so far in the TVC in football is a pretty good year seeing that people said they wouldnt win any TVC games.

Don't forget the improvement shown in the girls athletics programs over the past 4 years especially in the volleyball and basketball areas. The bottom line is that both of SG's fall sports teams have winning records in the TVC and are in the upper half of the league. No we did not beat outstanding Trimble and Eastern teams and I seriously doubt we will beat Wahama or Symmes Valley. I am hoping the we can play Waterford well enough to possibly come a way with a win. But considering no one outside of SG thought we would be able to win a game let alone have winning conference records, all in all its been a good start. Not great but good. As for tradition, people forget this school is only a little over a decade old and in a conference for the first time.

Go Rebels!

Wahama 14
South Gallia 12

The boys at the Sentinel said they could suspend all but the JV players and it still won't be close. Wahama continues to roll through the Hocking and into the playoffs.

I would like to know what boys at the Sentinel you are referring to because it wasn't anyone in sports?

Don't go putting words in our mouths, especially when we cover both teams on a regular basis.

That's a real good way to get a "Bad Moon Rising."

Good luck to both teams, I'll be there to cover it all.

BTW,

Wahama can clinch a share of the TVC Hocking title with a win this weekend, so the Trimble folks are rooting hard for South Gallia this weekend.

What's the world coming too?

No one at Trimble is rooting for SG. Stop putting words in our mouths.

Heavy D,

First off, you need to understand that there are two Sentinels in the area, one of which covers both SG and Wahama on a regular basis.

So when you go making comments about the Sentinel people saying things, you are putting our work in these areas at risk.

Maybe if you weren't such a dumb arse, you'd realize things like this. It's called specifics.

Secondly, if you are not rooting for SG — then I guess that second place (mediocrity) is acceptable. Just like a 4-6 season would be at SG. Maybe you're pulling for the upset at Miller in two weeks, I guess?

Good luck to the Rebels and White Falcons on Friday.

Crazy me, I thought there was the Parkersburg Sentinel http://newsandsentinel.com/ that covers West Virginia teams like Wahama. Maybe you two getting on here and acting like all knowing horses arse's, making derogatory comments to people is part of the reason people are not reading your Sentinel. SG has no chance of beating Wahama, so no need to root for them. As for you Miller comment, with the way they have been playing lately they have just as good a chance of beating Wahama as SG does. I know as a writer you think you are somehow more intelligent than the rest of the world, and that you should get the last word, but it only makes you look like the arse you claim I am when you argue on here with people. Keep one thing in mind, the world does exist outside your cubicle there at the Sentinel, and does not revolve around you. It revolves around Keyser_soze78 and his tireless coverage of the sports teams in the area. Just ask him. Have a good day boys.

Oh Heavy,

Let me break it down for you in a way that even you will totally understand.

First off, you answered your own question. Parkersburg News and Sentinel. I'm at the Daily Sentinel, the Gallipolis Tribune and Point Pleasant Register.

Secondly, you are a Trimble poster on a SG-Wahama thread talking about our kids and our newspapers — then you have the nerve to single us out for derogatory comments because you cannot specify the difference between Parkersburg and Meigs. Which can lead to a lot of misinterpretation.

Thirdly, being that you are from Trimble, nobody gives a crap what you think on this subject. My areas may not love me, but they do know that I am out busting my arse every night to make things the best I can for them.

Fourthly, and finally, if you are a teacher and/or educational employee in the Athens County area, you should remember that free periods are paid periods. You should probably get back to work and stay off the public forums during business hours. :122249

WOW! They have "free periods" in the school system in Ohio? In WV, teachers only have planning periods where they still have to work and prepare lessons for the next day; or so I'm told.
