Hope so, boilermaker. It's gonna be another tough game for the rockets. I think this wellston squad is tough as nails despite the record and should bounce back. Alexander is no slouch and have seemed to turn things around with their football program. As always, go rockets!!!!

I had a topic about this game but apperently i didnt see yours boiler my bad I'll have the mods close mine. Anyhow In my post i said If im eating old smelly 5 week old crow after this then so be it But i dont think alexander can hang with wellston at all. And in all my post this year i have never made that kind of a statement abt wellstons opponent.

alex will stack the box with 8 men also, and if wellston dont adjust early they could very well lose this game to.the play calling is getting pretty bad at wellston it's time to make some adjustments everyone has seen film of us and no how to defend it,come on hutchison it's time to mix it up a little more.their our other kids on team that can be play makers it dont have to be #6 and #11 all the time.why are we not using a wheel route with jayjohn or toss sweeps?one of the coaches need to let osborne no that he has to run north and south not east and west he's getting a habit of this lately.also, one of wellstons linebackers is lost all the time over running plays, shooting wrong gaps,so this tells me he dont no how to play this spot. prater has to make 80% of the tackles put some one in their that can read an offence.hutch might want to think about calling his own offence plays we all saw him questioning the bold headed coach last night on why he called the same play 3 times in a row.hutch will be a good coach but he neens to fix some things one of them been cooper he does nothing to help the kids all he knows how to do is yell over here over their, that's not teaching the line nothing.all i have left to say is good luck wellston.

Wellston is headed in the right direction. There is nothing wrong with the play calling or the coaching staff they are doing great for only having the kids for four months before this season. They have put in new Offense , defense, special teams. Lets not get on here as a community and start bashing coaches after 6 games. Look at our losses, Minford 5-1 ( 23-21) Oak Hill 5-1 (21-8 w/out Prater) Gallia 5-1 (41-21) Buchtel 4-2 (28-21) a 19 -5 record . Pretty good football teams we have lost to. Wellston has won 7 games in 3 years prior to this season. This program is on the rise and will be for years . This head coach is going to stay here and build this up if left alone to do so.
The JVs are 3-1, Jr high 4-1, the pee wee teams 5th &6th are 4-0 3rd&4th 3-1. Talent good coaching + good program hang in there people and enjoy this new era!

As for this game I look for Rockets to win and win out .

GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Boiler. The majority of Wellston fans are expecting almost TOO much. This is Hutchinson's first season. He has implemented a completely new system like you said. Give it time for his plays, defensive schemes, etc. to take hold in the hearts and minds of the kids. And I'll bite at your opponent comparison too. The Rockets have lost to good teams. I'll even go as far as saying you've played right with good teams. One day you'll be able to finish games, win the TVC, and maybe accomplish your preseason goal of going 10-0. It takes more than 6 weeks to check those things off. JMO

I think the Rockets tough schedule shows this week as compared to Sparty's, and Wellston picks up the W. Good luck to both teams this week.

I agree. Alexander will have trouble with the Rockets speed. If Wellston can put 4 quarters together like they did in week 1, they should win easily....but if they struggle, Alex will make a game of it.

This is Alex's toughest test to date. A young spartan squad is going to have their hands full in enemy territory.

This week the youth of Alexander catches up to them as Wellston is the best team they'll have faced yet. Rockets win going away late.

Wellston fan support has been great! The football program is definetly headed in the right direction! As fans its been tough watching the rockets win only 7 games in the past three years. Theres alot of excitment in wellston with their football program! Hope the Rockets turn it around this week. Mix it up more on offense earlier. And tackle better on defense. Great group of talented young men! Great coaching staff! Good luck Rockets its been exciting to say the least! Stay focused and win out!

When a team stacks 8-9 players in the box, that doesn't mean keep trying to pound it for a 1 yard pick up. I think wellston is very versatile, and the need to show it and use it. Go Rockets.

I'd much rather watch the play calling this year than the play calling of the past few years. Last year we were throwing the ball in 30 mph winds vs. Meigs in the torrential downpour. This year we are trying to establish the run to open up other options. Do either of you remember when Larry Blackstone was coaching at Wellston? Wellston lined up in the wing-t and ran the ball every down and was successful doing it. Sure, there were years when teams he coached should've won more games but his teams always ran the ball successfully. It didn't matter if there were 8, 9, or 10 men in the box. The running game in football is a mindset and after the last few years of an absolutely ill play calling system, it's time for these boys and fans to buy into the run first offensive attack that Wellston and their coaches are bringing to the table.

I remember blackstone very well, when he threw the ball on 4th and 1 against VC in 99. Runs the ball all night and then loses the game and the tvc title on a dumb call. Yea I remember.
