I agree with running the ball part but not out of the shotgun, were Wellston not Oregon, Line it up in I and run the ball Just like Coach Lucas did, mix a little passing here and there thats it. This past Friday Wellston shot there self in the foot when they ran the same play 3 times in a row, looked a lot like last years play calling!

Beagle , you need to look at Wellstons schedule, they still have to go to Athens. Not enough coaching experience to win this one. Just ask the Wellston fans, there already getting tierd of the play calling.

Maybe they need to add the Caulker to the coaching staff, sounds like he's got the experience. Just what plays do you call throughout the day when you squeeze that calking gun.

As Blackstone would say YOU LITTLE PUKE. :122246

Man, this is classic. Every wellston supporter gets on here and acts like they are supposed to win the state title this season after we beat jackson. We lose some games to quality opposition and now Hutch doesn't know how to call plays? Are you serious!? This is his first year coaching and I think he's done a fine job despite the record. If you guys really believe you know what to run, why don't you contact him on thursday nights when he is finalizing his game plan for the week. It's not like he is a hard guy to find around wellston. I can't stand it when people get this "What have you done for me lately?" attitude. Just go to the freaking games and show support for these boys. I think within a few years things will turn around and wellston will be a winner again. As long as the school board doesn't run him out of wellston or anything catastrophic happens.

Anyways, good luck this week against alexander. I hope we kick some butt and win out the rest of this season. GO ROCKETS!!!!

Roadrunner, Sorry I do go to games and support them but as a fan & former player you get sick of seeing the same s*** that has lost the games in the past. I'm not taking anything way from Hutch hes a great coach and guy, but he doesn't call the offense and thats where the problems are coming from you don't line up in shotgun on 1st down and try and run the ball at Wellston get in a power formation and run it down their throats, it gets the line, backs and the fans into game!

I'd much rather watch the play calling this year than the play calling of the past few years. Last year we were throwing the ball in 30 mph winds vs. Meigs in the torrential downpour. This year we are trying to establish the run to open up other options. Do either of you remember when Larry Blackstone was coaching at Wellston? Wellston lined up in the wing-t and ran the ball every down and was successful doing it. Sure, there were years when teams he coached should've won more games but his teams always ran the ball successfully. It didn't matter if there were 8, 9, or 10 men in the box. The running game in football is a mindset and after the last few years of an absolutely ill play calling system, it's time for these boys and fans to buy into the run first offensive attack that Wellston and their coaches are bringing to the table.
The resaon he could run every down is the huge strong line and the talent he had at running back. You have to be able to change play calling to the kids you have at the time if you can not call plays that suit your kids then you will not have a good year.

yes these boys do play hard got to give them credit.hutch is a good coach,he should be calling the offence plays or try different coach in that spot,or try our second half game plan to start the game we seem to do better after halftime.the boys do need to start running north and south not east and west get what yards u can better then getting tackled for a loss.

Huge game for Wellston. If Wellston can win out and Jackson keeps doing well, and they will. Wellston can make the playoffs. Check the numbers. They Can slip in. Good luck Wellston. Still a lot on the line for you. Huge points this week and in the Athens game.

Half of wellstons opponents are in the playoff as of today. Does any other team around here play that tough of opposition.

Lets give a little credit where it is due . Alexander is 5-1 and their only loss is a overtime loss. I know the spartans schedule is not as strong as Wellston ,but they did win these 5 games. Alexander is ranked #7 in D-4 region 15 so lets give them credit . This will be a good game I think my Rockets will win but to say blow out is absurd. Wellston has not played 4 quarters since week 1 . Until they play 4 quarters again they will not beat any good teams.
