The difference is execution you have to block the play right to be successful and we have been inconsistant in getting it done on every play.

Bashing the staff doesn't help, Boilermaker. But, defending every poor choice made, doesn't either. Ours is a young staff and I'm hoping with time things get better, but it seems to me that the person in charge needs to make more of the decisions and not worry about hurt feelings on his staff cause it's the kids pay the price.

Aren't you suppose to be at Purdue? Coach Stevens played nose tackle, and he was a very good nose tackle. I surely wouldn't have wanted to watch you TRY to block him. If you're a true Wellston fan, you wouldn't bash the coaching staff. I thought MR. PRATER made a complete a** of himself Friday night.

And I'd like to know where you heard I was going to Purdue from cause thats some funny s*** you know something I don't! And as for me blocking him I don't know where thats coming from either but what I do is if he was nose tackle shouldn't he be calling defense and the head coach who was really good running back calling offence isn't making since too me?? Maybe you should do it all since you already know everything!

I agree with huthuthike on all points! For the record , a good friend of mine Coach Arno of Alexander never even played football at all . Just because you played offense or defense doesnt mean thats what you should coach. Besides Morgan Stevens has forgot more about football than most of you posters will ever know. It is easy to call a game from the stands when the play is over. Get over youselves and either back the Kids or stay home.

I have never heard so much negativity in my life. Calling out coaches on here and saying negative things about them knowing that most of the wellston players read this forum is sickning. I have been to every wellston game except for the fairland game and understand why the coaches do what they do on both sides of the ball. old*rocket talking about one of the coaches being at a bar after a game, when i have never seen any of the wellston coaches in there. Rocket50, talking about how he is going to the games and cheer for the players and not the coaches. Caulker10, talking about quit running dives up the middle, when the rockets threw the ball two or three times in the first series and were in spread formations alot friday. AccBiggz, saying he never liked the staff hutchinson put together when he probably dont know anything about them, but just wanted to be negative like the others i have mentioned and draw attention to himself. And the worst is Rocket50 saying he agrees with how Mr. Prater acted at the game. A man who completely showed his a&& friday and his son had to escort him out of the stadium after the game. A man who should have been escorted out by the police by the 2nd quarter. I will continue to go to the games and cheer for the TEAM, which means i will cheer for the COACHES and the PLAYERS. Old*Rocket, Rocket50, Caulker10, AccBiggz, and Blackjack, every thing you posted on here negative plays a part in bringing down the wellston football program. You are the THE TYPE OF PEOPLE who are on the band wagon when things are going right, but are the first to criticize whens thing go wrong instead of helping by being supportive of the whole team. You are THE TYPE OF PEOPLE that gives wellstons community a bad name. To the WELLSTON FOOTBALL PLAYERS : if you read the negative comments above that was wrote by Rocket50, Old*Rocket, AccBiggz, Caulker10, and Blackjack., all I can say is that i'm sorry you have people in your community like this, there are still some of us out there that supports your whole team. You stick together in that lockerroom with your teammates and coaches and make the best of the season you have left. Go Rockets!!!!

Unlike Louie, I've been to every game this season, so don't assume that I'm on the bandwagon because of one terrific victory that began the season. I've supported the Rockets when a single victory wasn't achieved in a season. Do I claim to be a football expert? No, but I can tell you that I've heard family members of the lead coaching staff question the offensive play calling and I've hoped that someone might listen so that they kids would benefit and gain the wins they have be close to achieving. Is it cool to call coaches out anonymously? Never, but when you step up to the plate to take the lead role, you'd better be ready for outsiders to question what you're doing. The stings of criticism won't seem so tough once this staff gets some experience. Boilermaker spoke of lack of execution, do you think that this may be due to the way the team has been built? The lead coaches seem to have placed all their hope into a couple of kids and when they can't get it done alone, the whole plan falls to pieces. Until the team is a true team you'll have kids who won't block for another kid who may be viewed as being shown favoritism or special treatment Again, I'm not an expert in football and I'm not bashing, just throwing an idea or two out there in hopes that someone gets things on track so the Rockets finish this season, and many more to come, in a positive way.

Louie_15 is spot on about the criticism , it rediculious . The teams we have lost to are pretty good football teams . I suggest you watch both sides of the ball . I dont like lossing any more than anyone. I hate it and so does the rest of the coaching staff.

I hate losing to why do you think I'm so mad about it I went 7-23 in my varsity career. One of those seasons we we're 0-10. I just don't see how you beat a Jackson team who is 6-1 with a win over a great Ironton team, and not beat the teams we play? Its just not making since to me!

And on that first drive we did throw the ball and what did that get us, all the way Down to the 30 then dive dive dive dive dive ..... Then the next possession dive qb dive dive qb dive... HaHaHaHa!!! It is so entertaining reading some of this stupidity that idiots write. haha. Wellston has yet to run the Dive this year. in their offense u will always see a lead blocker or a pulling guard. which means you will be witnessing an ISO, TRAP, POWER, or COUNTER. Oh yea, you pull the tackle when u run counter for the play side backer. the guard kicks out the d end. When u see the fullback kickout the d end and guard pull, well that is called POWER. oh and the TRAP is playside down block and u will only see the guard
pull to trap the tackle or end. but wellston does not run the dive. Dive = no pulling guard, no pulling tackle, and no lead blocker. it is simply the fullback thru a gap, which wellston does not run.

wellston doesn't run the dive?....hmm when they go shotgun with one back and do a simple handoff up the gut with no pulling linemen or a lead blocker, what would that be called then?

That would be called the zone read. The backside end is not blocked and that is who the QB reads. If the end goes down the line of scrimmage to the RB, then the QB pulls it. If the end comes up field to the QB, then the QB gives it. The O-Line zone blocks away from the back leaving backside d end un blocked. Wellston does not run the dive.

louie, I know what read is and yes wellston does do that but they also do a simple give up the gut to the rb in shotgun witnessed with my two eyes, and caulker10 was there and saw it with his!
