BuckBalls, I think this is most assanign statement I have ever read of this forum. By the way, how many times have you seen Jackson play this year? Obviously your football knowledge in minimal. Stick to cheerleading.....

cannot wait to come to jackson , and see some dear friends, it seems like quite often jackson gets a fighting tiger team, that has just come off a very hard fought loss. i know 2 things . the fighting tigers will be very prepared, and the ironmen will be as well. i look for a dandy game in jackson county. can't wait to do battle with this team , that is running roughshod, through the seoal.

Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
SOMEONE ASKED IF ALDER WAS GOOD EARLIER IN THE THREAD..... YES!
If anyone cares I did post all week, prior to the game, that I knew it was a tough match up & my hopes were for no other injuries! It's as if I cursed the tigers by uttering the words!!!
I had found play by play run downs on all of ALDERS GAMES, & usually being outweighed on the lines doesn't concern me for the tigers! BUT, I knew this team was huge from ALDER, & fast, so I knew we had our hands full! Their offensive line just killed us w/ players @6-6/300lbs.+, 6-7 /325lbs.+, & 6-5/315lbs etc! They were fast on top of it & that's what caused the severe injury loss!!!
The physicality Alder brought, w/ over the top emotions, several late hits, throat punches, sideline
penalties, left me finding it hard to have respect! I
know it triggered the tigers, when it should not have!!!
I also saw them in the 2006 finals against MOONEY
PLAY the sameway, dirty quick late deceptive hitting! I
just am saddened for this! It did stop before second
half w/ the refs getting on both sidelines
Anyway, the tigers just need to seize the opportunity to play the younger players, letting them get experience, LUTZ rarely gives if tigers are healthy!!So, in ways, I'm glad it's done,
cause I felt it would happen( injuries)! Let the leaders heal up., the jv's gain experience!!!
If you look closely @ computer ratings, we could still
qualify for post season for sure, w/2 wins & squeak in
with 1win!!! Depending on who looses in the region,
maybe worst case scenario@ 5-5!!
a win @ Jackson, would probably seal post-season!!!
So, let those out injured, heal til post season, no additional injuries,& let's get our confidence back, get some w's, & see what happens!!!
It's great the 5 teams we beat are winning, supplying second level points!!!
GOOD LUCK TIGERS!!

It's true! The films show that in fact he did not do it. And refs do make mistakes and to cost a young man two games is terrible. OHSAA should allow him to play and recind this call on him. Ironton fans should speak up. I'm glad that Lutz is appealing this call.ItownBrowns wrote:I have heard that Ironton has possibly appealed the ejection of Wilks by sending in video of the play in question. They're hope is to have the additional game suspension recinded. I have no idea exactly how true this is, I do know if the OHSAA recinds this suspension it will absolutely shock me. I've never known the OHSAA to recind a suspension or comment on a referee's call. No matter how terrible it is. As far as they're concerned the referee is always right.

Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
the fact that nobody saw it leads me to believe it did not happen, like i said. when ironton was running the ball alot of extra ciricular stuff was going on well after a whistle should have been blown. when forward progress is stopped, as it was in many cases, an official should not allow piling on, diving on top of running backs, and holding up the ball carrier to get exposed to extra hits and punishment that is uncalled for. i could see some shoving going on, as the players were getting frustrated with the officials allowing this. but i have not heard or seen anybody that said they saw a punch thrown. that said, i think the chances of OHSAA overturning a call, you'll probably see me pole vaulting before that happens. but nonetheless a physical game , need not turn into a dirty game. it's all in the official's hands. i don't care where they are from. we'll have to cowboy up without him.

I haven't talked to anyone that has seen the film yet, but if Lutz is appealing and has video evidence, then I would bet a lot of money that it was a bad call. Lutz is not the type to appeal unless it is CLEAR. Bad calls happen.tigersportsfan wrote:It's true! The films show that in fact he did not do it. Now, there is this one guy I know, that has never been hit late or hit someone late himself in his entire life because he never had the pads on. LOL

Regardless of whether or not there is video proof, I would be shocked to see the OHSAA overturn the suspension.
I-town-90, you've got a true mystery going on here. I'm not sure who you are but I know a guy who graduated in the class of 1990 and to hear him tell it, he was an integral part of the 1989 state championship football team. Maybe you know the guy.

Hey Hat, I am going to throw out another clue, as one of the actual All State linemen just reminded me. I also have to apologize foe saying this guy never played anything. And here is your clue....................BlindWhiteHat wrote:Regardless of whether or not there is video proof, I would be shocked to see the OHSAA overturn the suspension.

This guy actually played TENNIS............................................
The All State lineman reminded me of a two-a-day practice when Bob Lutz made the entire team laugh our butts off when he looked over and saw _______ on the tennis courts, and in typical Lutz dry fashion, said, "well there is ole ________ ________, perfect position for him too............"
So, there is your clue, he played TENNIS............................and I apologize for saying that he never played anything..............................LOL

Re: Ironton (5-1) @ Jackson (5-1)
My brother made a video of the Game with a radio earpiece taped to the video recorder microphone (Jason and Kevin on the Radio), He said it turned out great, except He jsut got the first 3 quarters or so before his battery went dead. I havn't seen the tape yet but He said it was awful with all the late hits and pushing that went on after the whistle was blown and it wasn't the Tigers doing it.You're Tiger Bait wrote:i have not went there, but i will. i did see some of the stuff you are describing. and it should have been stopped. alder played a very physical brand of football. but a considerable bit of it was after the whistle. thats all i have to say about that. but we were beaten , it's time to move da heck on.
That game is over, now on to Jackson. The Tigers looked pretty good at practice today, I think they will be ready to go come Friday night.
Great to see WARNER and HAGER Practicing this evening, They looked pretty good from what I could tell.
