The facts are a great number of teams have come to Ironton and got screwed. We need to forget about it and move on or are we going to have the news papers get involved. I have been an Ironton fan for over forty years and this crying is getting old just ask someone that is not an Ironton fan that lives in the area.

I saw the game, and didn't think that Alder did anything inapproriate. Truth is, they finished off their blocks about as well as any high school team I've seen lately. They were physical and played till the whistle blew. That means sometimes players get a bit chippy as they untangle after the whistle, and the team on the losing end tends to be the most whiney about it. We need to tip our hat to Alder and move on to Jackson. They were just better than us last Friday.

That being said, I do think the Tigers' injury bug made the game look more lopsided than it should have been. Lutz said on the pregame radio interview that both Warner and Lawless were held out of practice all week, and both played the game last Friday with essentially one arm. Neither could finish the contest, and Lawless apparently aggravated his injury to the extent that he is now lost for the year. Not sure of Warner's status, but his shoulder may need time to heal. Add the Wilks suspension to the mix, and I agree with the other posters who have said that those guys are three of the finest players we have. Just 4 weeks ago, Warner and Lawless combined for 27 tackles, an interception, and 2 TD's, while Wilks led the team in rushing and scored a TD to beat Russell. That's a lot of production for any team to replace all at once.

There are many other fine players on the team, as well as some talented younger players who will get their chance to shine now. Coach Lutz will get them as ready as possible, and we will see what happens at Jackson. The injuries could end up hurting us more in the postseason than in the regular season, but regardless, Ironton will show up in Jackson this Friday.

I-town-90, you've got a true mystery going on here. I'm not sure who you are but I know a guy who graduated in the class of 1990 and to hear him tell it, he was an integral part of the 1989 state championship football team. Maybe you know the guy.
Hey Hat, I am going to throw out another clue, as one of the actual All State linemen just reminded me. I also have to apologize foe saying this guy never played anything. And here is your clue....................

This guy actually played TENNIS............................................

The All State lineman reminded me of a two-a-day practice when Bob Lutz made the entire team laugh our butts off when he looked over and saw Wilson on the tennis courts, and in typical Lutz dry fashion, said, "well there is ole Greg Wilson, perfect position for him too............"

is this tiger90 the same 1 that cries and wines over little league games that his team got beat by coal grove when they had all those returning starters ..............lol

Actually it was Wellston not Welston who " smashed " us. They were the better team that night. Ironton might be the better team Friday night. That is why the game is played, but we are quite happy with our coach. Since the Wellston game, I believe he has built a lot of confidence in our boys and has them prepared to do their very best each and every game.

Klay does have over 900 total yards from scrimmage through the first six weeks.

89 rushes - 830 yards - 9.3 yards per rush - 11 TDs
5 catches - 82 yards - 16.4 yards per catch - 2 TDs

He has been a HUGE part of a very versatile Jackson offense. The Ironmen have more weapons at the skilled positions than they have had in quite a while, and the staff has been utilizing them very well. This game will be won in the trenches though. Any time you play Ironton, you have to be able to match their physicality and beat them at the line of scrimmage. The Jackson O-line will need to play their best game of the season for the offense to be successful. The same goes for the defense. Ironton's rushing attack is second to none. Jackson has to stop the run...simple as that.
