To the players that read this blog: (not us "has beens") Only bad things can happen if you square off with another player. All it takes is a flash of fabric or the quick jerk of a helmet and you might get called for something you didn't do. Just turn your back and walk away. There are other ways of getting your point across, like smiling at the scoreboard after the game.

That's exactly what Logan people said to, and look what we did to them!!!! :-D :-D :-D

Almost game day. Should be a great atmosphere tomorrow night at Alumni Stadium.

Good luck to the Ironmen. This game is VERY important for their playoff hopes, and possibly a must-win game. Gotta play hard and execute. Ironton is a very good football team, but I feel like Jackson is too. Tomorrow night, the Ironmen have to prove that.

BEAT IRONTON!

To ballrmom and the rest of you darn whiners that say Alder played dirty...post the video on YouTube. Post it! Let's see the proof. The next excuse we'll hear is...I lost the video or I don't know how to upload video on YouTube or it's to grainy like the Zapruder film or it was stolen from my house by people from Alder or the clown ref took it out of my car excuses, excuses and more excuses. I do like some of you Ironton posters. You do know football, but for the one's that make these idiotic statements and excuses you have no CLUE about the game. No football sense whatsoever. And for the ones that have no respect for Alder guess what...we have respect for your team, but not you. You sound like a bunch of darn babies. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This is Jackson gameday, timeto forget about who threw a punch or who didn't, everyone seemsto think the player was ejected for throwing a punch, when in reality he could have dropped the f-bomb or even simply got up pushing the tackler off of him, it was the opinion of the official that it warranted an ejection and he made the call.
The OHSAA very seldom overturns a call,i.e.(Dwyer, FL v. Glenville), so this horse is already dead and covered quit thrashing him.

I have been a high school football fan since the 50's. I have observed more than one player being ejected for retaliation. I have seen more than one ejected for words that come out of their mouth. I am sure I have seen players ejected because an official thought they said something that came from a different player. Excrement happens, one of the great benefits of football, it teaches great life lessons.
Learn how to deal with it and move on.

The excuse game is not Ironton poster's exclusive property. (Caveat.....not all Ironton posters are excuse makers). It sometimes seems to be that something is added to the water in communities that have a lot of success on the high school gridiron. This condition exists in communities far away from Ironton. I hate to disappoint some posters that are north of Ironton, but that means it has nothing to do with the water in the Ohio River.

Come on you know this kid you know that's not true. Are you saying that because your a ref? You wouldn't be saying that if it was T. And in reality you don't have a clue what your talking about. He was ejected for throwing a punch. In which he did not do. And the ref even told the chain crew that he made a huge mistake making that call.

Well in my opinion ejecting a player has to be a lst resort. Yes, Zebra 77 is correct, the official can eject on the basis of language, or physicality or flat out attitude I guess. However, the official has to use the better judgement in cases like this. Did the Ironton player deserve to get ejected? i do not know. i did not see the play or the video. However, i do know that it should be very flagrant to require an ejection. Ironton has two hall of fame football coaches on their sidelines. what would have been wrong with walking the player to the bench and explaining the situation to coach Lutz and Coach Burcham and asking that the player sit out a series or two? You still administer the penalty and you go about your business.
I once officiated and i know it is often a thankless job. However, all officials should know that going in.

that being said, Ironton is good enough to win tonight. I am sorry that Tres will not be playing tonight. it has been a pleasure watching him play. I wish every high school athlete played with his desire every play. i am also sorry that Michael Lawless will be lost to the team. Michael is a great kid and he plays with alot of guts. He plays like a guy 50 pounds heavier than he is. It is time for those who have projected themselves as leaders all year, to step up and lead this team. Ironton builds alot of character tonight in my opinion and will come away with a 28-14 win.
