On the other hand. Logan isn't stopping too many 2nd and 10's and 3rd and medium's.

Re: SEOAL: Logan (1-5) at Warren (4-2)
For those of you calling out the Logan coaches. Dale's first 8 years he was 37-43, including two 2-8 teams. Not exactly impressive. Secondly regarding the development of feeder programs, I do think to a point it is important to have some involvement, but to suggest coaches have additional time during season to spend with the T-hawks is a bit myopic. They are already putting in 80+ hour weeks and have their own families to tend to. Such expectations are not only unrealistic but also unfair.
Tough times bring out a man's true character. I think it is clear that a number of "fans" are lacking in this particular area. As I alluded to in a seperate thread "the rats are jumping ship"

Maybe the T-Hawk coaches ought to go to them on thier own time and learn some stuff since their not as busy as the Varsity staff.

I have said on this forum and others that it took Dale a good 6-8 years to build and develop his program. And like the current staff, the program was in pretty darn good shape when he took over (41-10 over the 5 previous years).
I believe in this staff. They are experienced coaches. They are coaches who have a track record of success. Things haven't worked this year, and they'd be the first to tell you that.
But I agree, there are more "fans" quitting on this team and staff than there are problems with the kids and/or coaches.
As for the Tomahawks thing, klaw is DEAD right. To expect the coaching staff to be ACTIVELY involved in a development program is unrealistic, and quite honestly, stupid. I hope the Varsity staff is devoting every hour they have for football the the Logan football program.
The staff could embrace a feeder system without being directly involved. But I don't think for a second that Coach Wolfe, Coach Walsh, or Coach Huntsberger should leave Varsity practice and head out to help the feeder system. Those guys are devoting INSANE hours as it is.

Re: SEOAL: Logan (1-5) at Warren (4-2)
I agree one hundred percent with that. However, recognition and encouragement of the Biddy Leagues would be helpful, including perhaps providing instructional materials to the teams. What you really want is for the fundamentals and the spirit of teamwork to be taught here. Also, do the Tomahawks get to play in Chieftain Stadium? I hope so but if not, allowing them at least one game there would go a long way toward getting kids enthused about the program. Now, I'm going to bow out of this because it has been so long since I had any association with the Tomahawks, I can't really speak to what is going on there. I know when my son played, a lot of individuals donated their free time and took parental abuse to coach and teach the kids. They deserve far more than my mentioning it here can ever repay.LoganLocos wrote: As for the Tomahawks thing, klaw is DEAD right. Not at all. My post was directed at a number of others who consistently criticize coaches and players.
"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." -

Klaw10 you really know how to beat a dead horse. Everyone is offering good insight to what they individually think would help the program here with ideas. You should stop critisizing every person on here and just discuss the game at hand which is Logan Vs. Warren. Besides I highly doubt you personally know every person on here so it is cowardly and rude, to say the least, to say fans are "rats" jumping ship. Just because fans are dissapointed or unhappy with the team's progress, or lack thereof, doesn't justify calling anybody a "rat". Just discuss the game at hand and leave the rest of it out. You all burned me for calling out the D coach, but calling out fans that support and keep the program running is just as unacceptable. So follow your own example and cease and desist the negativity. Thx. GO LOGAN.

[quote="moonschein"]Guy's lets' not rush to judgement on the coaching staff. Just look at Gallia, Jackson and even Zanesville as examples, It will take at least one and a half years for the program to adjust. By the 2nd year Logan better be in a postion to to win the championship and finish around 7-3 tp 8-2 or then we need to look at the coaching staff and make changes!
I agree with the post give the staff a chance i would even atlest 3yrs to get there system in place you guys have had 10 good years be thankful for that there are programs who have one good year and 10 bad ones. Dont give up on the staff or the kids support them every friday night. So after saying all that I will go with Warren by 14 or more.

Yes, Graham is out for the year.
I've heard Chandler will most likely be cleared for Friday and Long got back in the action last week. Logan should be as close to full health as they will be all year. Still a number of "back-ups" nursing injuries though.

In addition to the health factor, it will help to have the more experienced players back on the field. I still think actual playing time leadership on the field has been lacking. Players who have more of a feel for the gameplan and what is going on during the game help to make for better execution. In addition, several players who have gained considerable "crucial" minutes are beginning to contribute. This will be only the second game Logan has played on grass this year. I personally feel a (slower) grass surface may be more to Logan's personnel this year. Should be a good one but I can't make it. I'll be listening. Go Chiefs!
