My lord, you would think we're about to go running into St. Xavier....

Re: Bishop Hartley (6-1) At Ironton (5-2) At the Tank Stadiu
Maybe the coaching staff should think about playing Noah on defense because from the looks of it, Harltey doesn't exactly shut people down. Lots of points in the against column.sportnut wrote:Have you Ironton people ever heard of Noah Key? He has 1400 yds rushing for Hartley. Your gonna hear his name alot Friday. If you can't beat helpless Jackson, you sure can't beat Hartley. Hartley 49 Ironton 14. No passing game for Ironton.
I can't tell you how many times Ironton has played a back that had XXXXX number of yards and they came out of the Ironton game with 52 yards on 23 carries. Yada Yada Yada.
This isn't a Tennis match.

You've posted as an Ironton fan in the past...sportnut wrote:I'm not gonna give you Ironton people a T____, I'm gonna give you a L for a loss Friday night. You Ironton people are ate up with it. It's not there no more Ironton. Gee you couldn't even beat Jackson. Hope you don't have to play West in the playoffs. Ironton Tradition? It's only a memory. Ironton will be a basketball school before you know it. If they can keep the CRY BABYS off the team.
I disagree with this statement. We may very well lose on Friday. That's possible....but I also know that our boys will play with 100% effort and heart. THAT is the Ironton tradition. The wins...yes, we have plenty. But we are the FIGHTING TIGERS for a reason.
Also, I would see no problem with Ironton being a basketball school. A lot of schools our size could not compare with what we have done in football af basketball. Go Fighting Tigers.

I don't know a whole lot about this but....a few things I would ask, scratching my head;
From Ironton Football Dot Com's Blog Article, 'The Sunday Quarterback'

While they've not made it to the state championship game since '99 (how many other schools around here have been at all?) Ironton does have three second place regional final finishes (how many schools here can say that as well?) in the last ten years, those years being; 2000, 2005, 2009.
Also, Ironton has only failed to finish in the top eight in their region 3 times..ever, since the playoffs began in 1972 - ain't that an amazing factoid?!
From Ironton Football Dot Com's Blog Article, 'The Sunday Quarterback'
Ironton still has only had one losing season (1996) in 41 years. The Fighting Tigers have only missed making the playoffs once in the last 12 years and still have the 3rd most playoffs ever. A banged up Ironton gets beaten by a 6 & 1 D3 school, a school that is 65% larger than Ironton.....in Triple OT, and that signals the demise of the school's football team and suddenly they've degenerated into aChecking the Joe Eitel site, even with another loss the Fighting Tigers are still atop the computer board. Here is how the top eight look after seven weeks of play:
1. Ironton 14.2786
2. Hartley 13.2429
3. Heath 13.1143
4. West 11.1286
5. Coshocton 10.3143
6. Sparta 8.6929
7. Alexander 8.0214
8. Portsmouth 8.0071

oh, i'm quite sure nobody would have ever DREAMED it was you, HERO. you can keep going on about how great you are (were) as we all understand that you are an authentic HERO....although i doubt it is helping your image much in the eyes of people that know you... but don't you think it is about time you quit looking down your arragant nose at whoever this person is that you seem to enjoy putting down in every post you make. it's getting kind of old, ya know?..... and so is your "idiot", "moron" etc. name calling.I-town-90 wrote:

Some may be paranoid though. LOL I guess if you question your own football knowledge and feel like some Ironton fans think you may be a moron, then you may have a right to be paranoid. LOL
we understand that you are superior to every body else in ironton and 9 surrounding states but enough of this degrading of another individual. it's not funny, son.

thanks for making my point for me tl895. exactly what i pointed out several posts ago.tl895 wrote:oh and if playing schools up north is not scheduling up
according to your statement here (and a LOT of others do it too) just playing a school "UP NORTH" is PERCEIVED as "playing up" .

there are PLENTY of schools "up north" that little Symmes Valley could roll and not be considered to be playing "up" at all.
this is just a myth created by people like you'retigerbait and kantucky to help explain why you frequently (like this year) lose to the Alders and Hartleys. D4 is D4 and it ain't schedulig up.
Alder and Hartley may be better teams but the fact remains they are still just D4 just like ironton.

This is hilarious. I guess South Point, Rock Hill, and Failrand have the same talent pools as Stubenville, Columbus DeSales, and Akron St. Vincent St Mary's? So if your a D5 team and schedule any of the three teams from each group you have scheduled equally? Brilliant, just Brilliant.
And if you put Cardinal Mooney, Coldwater, Ursaline, Newark Catholic and Versailles on your schedule you are scheduling down? I guess that would be a pud schedule compared to playing big teams like Greenup Co., Boyd Co., Huntington High, and a few other local schools that can't beat anyone?
I guess for that matter, why can't the local teams beat little ole D4 Ironton, that is 5 boys away from being D5? The talent pools are the same. How the hell has Lutz won so many games? Oh that's right, he must be scheduling puds like CAPE, DeSales and Columbus Watterson, small schools with equal talent.
Why don't they just flip a coin to determine who wins these games. If your enrollment is higher, you should get more flips of the coin. If a D6 team plays a D1, the D6 team has to win 6 straight coin flips to determine the winner, or else the D1 team wins.
I remember when we played Toledo Libby, D1, we were beating them 42-0 at the half. How could that be possible scheduling a team "up north" and a D1 one at that. Freak of nature I guess.
Keep calling Ironton's schedule soft, that makes you look like you have more football knowledge than Vince Lombardi. LOL
Is this really Tigers90 under a new screen name. Sure sounds like it.
LOL LOL LOL talk about hilarious.

exactly WHEN was the last time you played most of these teams that you mentioned ?
more precisely, when was the last time you SCHEDULED (which is what we are talking about here... SCHEDULES ) these big time schools .
and even MORE precisely, when was the last time you BEAT one of these schools. hell, CAPE hasn't even HAD a school in 10 years.
Stubenville,
Columbus DeSales
Akron St. Vincent St Mary's
Cardinal Mooney
Coldwater
Ursaline
Newark Catholic (D6...btw)
Versailles
CAPE
Columbus Watterson
Toledo Libby
you forgot to list Sandusky Perkins, a non-descript D4 school that nobody had ever heard of before and hasn't heard of since and they are about as far UP NORTH as you can get. how about Upper Arlington? how'd those games work out for you.
it doesn't work to list all the "prestigious" schools up north you've played ..... (most of which you ran into in the playoffs and didn't "schedule" at all.).... in the last 40 years and try to portend that that is your annual "schedule".
you're a pretty good CON man and it looks good on paper but it ain't gonna fly here.
Alder and Hartley are D4 schools.....they may be better than ironton but they are still D4 just like ironton.... get over it.
btw....trying your little con game again ?? nobody called ironton's schedule "soft" as you put it....i've merely given my opinion that scheduling D4 Hartley and Alder isn't scheduling "up".

Here's a question for you, is playing (6-1) Alder D4 Reg 16 #4, (6-1) Hartley D4 Reg 15 #2 and (6-1)Fairbanks D5 Reg 20 #10 better than Playing (2-5) Logan D2 Reg 7 #24, (4-3) Warren D2 Reg 7 #19 and (2-5) Marietta D2 Reg 7 #28 this year????
Re: Bishop Hartley (6-1) At Ironton (5-2) At the Tank Stadiu
Again, I am going to disagree. So with your statement then scheduling Cardinal Mooney, Versailles, Coldwater, Newark Catholic would all be considered scheduling "Down" I guess? Re: Bishop Hartley (6-1) At Ironton (5-2) At the Tank Stadiu
I didn't try to "portend" we scheduled those teams year in and year out. You obviously missed the point. I happened to have named a few small schools who are powerhouses and can kick the crap out of nearly every D2 school in the state. I am trying to point out that your argument that the "talent pool" is the same doesn't hold water and is ridiculous.KVDW wrote:I-town-90 wrote:

You have made you opinion known, and so have I. We can let the readers decided which schedule is tougher, playing teams like Coldwater, Ursaline, and Mooney, or playing D2 schools that have won a combined 6 games in 4 years.
Re: Bishop Hartley (6-1) At Ironton (5-2) At the Tank Stadiu
I never claimed I am a HERO. I don't have to talk about myself. You seem to know me, I sent you a PM and you can identify yourself please, maybe you can say these things to me in person. I do not look down my nose at anyone and if anyone wants to know who I am talking about and why, I will be glad to explain it to you via PM as I have now done approximately 30 times. There is a very good reason behind my posts.
And by the way, you are not my dad. I happen to like my dad very much.

Bait...I will agree with you. The Alder fan base was dissapointing at the game. Our stadium seating (2,067 on the home side according to our AD...spoke to him on the phone) is completely full during games with standing room only (60-80 standing). Sorry more didn't attend. However, expect even less fans with Hartley.
Re: Bishop Hartley (6-1) At Ironton (5-2) At the Tank Stadiu
exactly !!! columbus DeSales was ONE team on that long list and THAT was FIVE YEARS ago !!! IT90 was trying to intimate that ironton played ALL those teams on a REGULAR basis. (and don't EVEN try to say he wasn't ). i guess he figures if you are going to name drop, drop big ones and drop them hard and maybe nobody will notice.OHbuckeye1 wrote:
