Good luck to both teams. Have at it boys, May the best team win the TVC this year.

Both teams still have to travel to Boston Field so this game could give the winner a little momentum!

Good luck to both teams. I hope that this is an injury free game.

I still say Athens wins by 2 with a late 4th quarter drive.

Congratulations to theAlexander Spartans. Alexander had a great gameplan for the start of the game and executed it well, Alexander chewed up the first 8:57 and scored to open the game. Athens only had the ball twice in the first half total. Athens was without starting QB Trey Harris once again but played a very good game and faught hard all the way to the end, sorry the game had to end on that type of play but that is high school football. This win should give Alexander alot of computer points for their playoff hopes and some extra confidence for their trip to Buchtle next week.

sounds like skinner did a great job at quarterback. He should be starting the rest of the year. However politics will win out and he won't.

Skinner ran the ball well but I think he only threw like five passes, two completions, two interfierence calls, and one poorly thrown incompletion. DeVon Sharp actually played nearly all of the second half at QB in the "wild dog " formation as they are calling it here. Trey Harris is the best option at this point from a passing standpoint but Josh will be a fine QB next season.

Tuff loss for the dogs. They never quit and played there hearts out! They left it all on the field and they should be aplauded for it.....

Congrats to the Alexander Spartans on the win at home--still some room for improvement, but saw some bright spots, especially in the first quarter. Athens has some good players, did not give up, and kept it close the whole game.

Spartans: enjoy the win, and prepare for next week. Athens: good luck on the rest of your season.

What a game, what a game, what a game...

The Spartans really set the pace of the game, chewin' up nearly 9 minutes of the 1st quarter...what was impressive about this drive was they ran every play but 1, a fourth and 5 or 6 play where they hit a WR draggin' back across the field behind the LB's...

Athens answered right back, using up the rest of the 1st quarter and into the 2nd, driving the field and tying the game up at 7-7 when Josh Skinner rolled right and found a wide open Josh Maxon in the corner of the endzone...

Alexander then took control of the rest of the half, finding a way to score late in the half, and then recovering an outside kick with around .13 seconds left to twart any chance of an Athens throw up and took a 14-7 lead into the locker room...

Athens received the ball to start the 2nd half, but failed to move it much with their drive and were forced to kick it back to the Spartans...Alexander found a way to convert a long 3rd down play with a halfback toss pass, that would keep their drive alive and would end with the Spartans holding a 21-7 lead in the 3rd...

It would be all Bulldogs after that for a while as the Bulldogs DeVon Sharp would find a gap in the newly formed =Wild Dog= offense that would find him scampering down the sideline to get the Bulldogs their 2nd score, and would pull the game to a 21-14 score...

Athens D would hold the Spartans O to minimal yards gained and would force them to kick it back to the Bulldogs who would drive the length of the field yet again, Dogs 3rd TD.... It was a pass from Athens RB DeVon Sharp, who was in the QB position again in that Wild Dog Offense finding Nick Stanley...

Into the 4th, the Spartans would find their Offense again, and found a way to get back into the endzone to take back the lead, that would see the score @ 28-21 with less then 4 minutes remaining...

The Dogs, having to score, would get great field position, and would capitalize on the best starting spot they had all night, with what looked like a TD pass from DeVon Sharp to Ian Dixon...however, after the Referee standing by the pylon ruled it a TD, the officials got together and ruled Dixon out at the 4. Athens QB Josh Skinner would roll right again on a 3rd and long to find Josh Maxon right at the goal line...score Alex-28, Athens-27 ...

The Play of the night has to go to the Alexander Special Teams, who got tall, and pushed the Athens Line back on the potential extra point getting their hands up and finding a way to tip the ball...

The Result....
Athens --27
Alexander --28

It will be a game everyone will remember, congrats to Alexander and Coach Arno and we know Athens Coach Adams will get his Dogs refocused for next week...Alexander controls their chances of a TVC-Ohio League Crown while Athens is still in the thick of things needing a win over Wellston, and a win over NY with some help...

Good Luck to All TVC Schools the rest of the way...

Actually BigDog according to the Messenger Skinner was 5-7 and 2 touchdown passes. Sharp was 2 of 2 in the Wild Dog. 7-9 for the game, no interceptions.
