New Boston tournament run
I honestly think this is a team that is being overlooked in that south bracket, they could really make some noise... i believe they are underrated and that was proven in the game vs Webster when they held an early lead and scored 2 in first half... that made 3 goals vs SW on the year and theyve only given up like 6 to this point, so i think that says something... if this team plays with heart and keeps their team on the field (not getting cards) then i think they run the table in the south and beat Wheelersburg...
Re: New Boston tournament run
New Boston for sure can make a deep run. If this team puts together a whole game and keeps all there starts with out getting kicked out no doubt they could win the south.

Re: New Boston tournament run
NB lost at St. Joe tonight 4-0. NB will have to get things turned around in a hurry to beat Wheelersburg in the 2nd round of the tourney.
Re: New Boston tournament run
New Boston has to beat South Point first, before looking to the Burg game.

The year was 2007---New Boston beat South Webster 4 to 2.
The Tigers were the #2 seed. The Jeeps were the #3 seed. That is why the game was played at New Boston........ The Tigers were the Higher Seeded Team!

Re: New Boston tournament run
The teams split during the regular season. We had each won on our home fields.
The Jeeps started 6 Freshmen that night and those Freshmen are now Seniors!

Re: New Boston tournament run
if new boston can find the same intensity they had for the first half of second match with south webster, i'd say anything can happen. good luck tigers.

Don't count GHS out. If I were to guess what team could pull off an upset in the sectional or district, i'd choose New Boston.
Re: New Boston tournament run
You are right about everything..............no one else can have an opinion without being slammed. I still wish the Jeeps success in the tournament............I have had nothing but respect for the South Webster teams, not just soccer. Later.................svbt1112 wrote:Oh, I am sure that the Tigers weren't saying anything!

And, I believe your original point was that the lower seeded Tigers "upset" the Higher seeded and smoke blowing Jeeps! At least that is what you said........... Oh well, the memory is a funny thing---we kind of remember things the way we want to! Editing helps too!

Re: New Boston tournament run
Good luck in the tournament. If you do get to face Wheelersburg, I wouldn't try to trap too much. The players up front for them can do some damage even when you are goal side & containing. Don't give them the advantage of a side by side foot race if they time their runs properly.

new boston program getting better. there numbers were good. have a good run.

I told myself yesterday that I would not answer or respond any more posts by you. I thanked you immediately when you brought the corrections to light........I was going on memory and my memory was not quite as good as yours. I went back and tried to edit and I also deleted as many of my posts as I could. Let it go........you won't hear from me again. : > )svbt1112 wrote:a_c_m:

The only problem I had was that you were not posting an opinion----you were stating facts in a way that wasn't correct. There is a big difference!
Good luck to your tigers!
