Would like to see FH win but, until we have coaches that can unite them as a team, I just don't know.

Lancers records by season:
2006- 9-2 (Playoffs)
2007- 5-5
2008- 7-3
2009- 3-7
2010- 1-7 with Eastern and Trimble remaining.
Football is a sport won in the trenches. When you look at FH's records and then think about who was on the line for those seasons, I think it is a testament to how important lines are in High School Football. The 2009 did have a pretty good line, just some close losses and tough scheduling last year. But this year, little to no experience in that offensive and defensive line, not so much the coaches fault.

Over beers at a Coaching Clinic this summer, the word was the Coaches couldn't unite a coaching staff. The kids deserve better...

It takes coaches and players. Our Head Coach didn't even show up last night...then you have a player's Dad calling the plays because two coaches quit before the season....now tell me coaching has nothing to do with it.
Re: TVC-Hocking: Federal Hocking @ Miller
I believe I never stated that "coaching has nothing to with it". Coach Green is a great person and I'm sure he had a legitimate reason for not being at the game. I will agree that Federal Hocking has seen way too many coaches leave in the past 5 years. But it's not just in football- Boys Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Track and Field- they have all seen coaching changes within recent memory. I graduated from Federal Hocking a while ago and I've known the area for a long time, and I will be the first to admit we are not and have not in the past been a football school. The first time the Lancers really had a team worth talking about was in 1999 when they had Zach Jarvis, Seshcar, Clayton Mayle, and Bart Kasler. They had good teams also in 06 and 08. But in all those years the athletes were supperior to what FH has now. So no, you cannott blame it all on coaching. Talent and line play have a lot to do with it. Do I think that is all the problem? No. Coaching does play a factor. But it doesn't matter if we had Peyton Manning at QB, Chris Johnson at RB, and Larry Fitzgerald, Ochocinco and TO at WR. You have to have a line that can block for them. Take South Gallia for instance- the Rebels ran all over FH. They ran 3 passing plays the entire game if I recall correctly. That's not coaching. That's line play.

Re: TVC-Hocking: Federal Hocking @ Miller
I am not saying it is all coaching...I helped raise Clayton Mayle thank you very much...and his cousin is playing there now....an athlete that IS on that team, there are a few more with talent, too...but, they don't get to play to their potential because of the play calling and who they play...a Coach Green WAS ill....all I am saying is you have to have the kids in the right place and if the coaches don't know where to play them then it isn't going to help anything...I have seen 200 and 300 pounders sitting on the sidelines while the 150 pound line is getting run through...there are problems all the way around.
Re: TVC-Hocking: Federal Hocking @ Miller
Unfortunately, coach Green will take the brunt of the blame for this year but I don't think he deserves it. Coach Green is a great man and a huge inspiration to all of the people, kids and adults alike, in the Federal Hocking area. Sure, he probably gave too much authority to a couple coaches this season, but maybe he had his reasons. As far as the talent, this team has plenty of talent. Players are playing out of position and some players are in there because of what grade they are in and not because of how they play. The line coach has let the boys down this year and the play calling leaves everyone scratching their heads. These boys have been behind everyone since the beginning of the year because of the coaching difficulties. Hopefully Fed Hock will get these coaching issues straightened out soon after the season ends so the boys will know what to expect next year. Good luck to the Lancers for the rest of the season.
