Alexander on a roll... Time to give Nelsonville-York the sour taste of a losing streak. I hope the Spartans beat Nelsonville for the next 40 years. Go Spartans!

I don't think I can make a pick on this one after watching the Athens/Alex game this past friday... I'll pick NY for the simple fact that I love my Buckeyes and I think being at Boston Field gives them a huge advantage coupled with the revenge factor, it will be hard for alex to overcome. Plus Alex is coming off a high and bound to be a little let down from that, its just a matter of fact that teams that come off a huge win find it hard to keep the intensity up for the following week... Will be a great game to see....

Alexander looked good against Athens on Friday night. I'm not sure that they can run the ball right at the Bucks with the same success they did against the 'Dogs.

That depends. If Alex comes out with the same determination and conviction to the run in the third quarter of this game that Newark Catholic had when they were at Boston Field, Alex will walk away with the win. NY needs to be prepared to totally shut down the run, and force the pass. Alex can pass pretty effectively, but if NY wins the line of scrimmage Friday (OK, I'm Mr. Obvious! ), Buckeyes win.

Honestly, I think it is going to boil down to who is more motivated, and whose line wins the battle. Otherwise, this one is a stalemate.

I think this is a game where NY's tough non-league schedule will prove advantageous to the Buckeyes.

I think the schedule NY played WAS GEARED FOR A PLAYOFF RUN...It starts FRIDAY.If Ny comes out like they did in the first half against NC ...NY will win going away. They have 2 play 4 quarters alex has showed they are a contender.Bucks need to jump on them early and often .take alex out of thier game plan If not it could be a ballgame. BUCKEYE PRIDE!!!!

Correction ny bucks, you mean a run TO the playoffs correct, a run would involve winning games.is that what you meant

Alex has to make sure the stripes can't decide it kuz we all know they'll do whatever they can to help NY...on a serious note. This game could go either way, depending on which teams show up. Another easy game to get pumped up for.

GO SPARTANS!!!
You must have bumped your head. Ny is probably the only team to get homered at home week in and week out. The one thing I can tell you for sure is that NY will not be as unethical as people have been to soak the field with extra water. I have seen unethical things in sports before that is taking to the extreme.

When you show your home videos soaking the field down better make sure there are no Buckeyes around to see it next time. Theres the coach of the year for ya. It was a fun video but ya better get rid of it.

Any coach will tell you the easy part is the scheme. The hard part is getting the players to execute the scheme, and getting them to listen. All of that is coaching. The former is what a decent coach can do, the latter is what good coaches do.

What's wrong with soaking the field? Playing in the mud is a lot of fun.

I want see this video of the alexander coaches soaking the field. It's called a week of solid rain, my yard look exactly like the football field did. Then again you guys always have to blame others and try to justify the loss.

Didnt say the coaches were soaking down but that is intersting to. Its out there. Just ask around some seniors have it on their phones. Or did. Be a fool to keep it on there. Didnt justify the loss. Alexander was the better team in 6 inches of mud. Weird though that the feild hasnt looked like that before or since. No mud bowl this friday. Just a good football game. Good luck!

Wellston played them the next week ,and the field was still a mess. Puddles everywhere down the Visitors sidline was like a hog pen. That field gets alot of use ,and was not soaked by the coaches.

exactly. what a lot of people dont realize that the soccer teams play on the field too. so a little bit of rain goes a long way with the soccer cleats added in there. thats pretty convenient for you isnt it? they had the video but im sure they deleted it. its like saying i had the winning lotto ticket but i threw it away, give me the money anyway? last year not only was alexander the better team in the six inches of mud, they were the better team, and you just cant admit it.

They were the better team that night. I admit. Ny shared the league championship because they were the better team that year. NY would have finished 5th in their region last year. Alex would have finished 11th in Ny's region last year. But they were better on that night. The planets were lined up and the heavens poured. lol

be it as it may a win is a win, and your right ny did share the title. and alex did not. but you said it yourself, "but they were better on that night". therefore between the two schools, alex and ny. you just admitted that alex was the better team.
