Wellston earned a much deserved victory over Meigs in week 8.Athens meanwhile lost a close in county battle to Alexander. This will be a good game .

Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
after watching alex an athens game last night this game will be a gut check for the rockets.I dont believe the defence wellston runs will be able to stop the dogs the backs are supper fast #5 can cut on a dime and take it to the house.coach arno made the right choice in going with a 3 man front and spreading the rest of defence from sideline to sideline also what helped alex was the long drives on offence eating up 8 to 9 minutes off clock and i love how arno has faith in his offence going for it on 4th down many times and making it alot of coaches would have never done that. good luck wellston, boilermaker,u might ask arno to barrow film of their game it would help wellston out on how to defend against athens backs and the wilddog when they put sharp at QB.again good luck wellston.

Good win Rockets!!!! Offense looked very sharp last night!!! It kept a good meigs team off balanced!Wellston used alot of weapons on offense. that built alot of confidence in the whole offense! Nice job!! Rocket defense was awesome! Great redzone defense. very good job in coverage! and pass rush! Whats up with the officiating worst i have seen all year!! Even worse than the minford game. That was an embarrasing display of officiating. Please retire!!! I would like to know the difference in penalty yds. between meigs and wellston. Dont take anything away from meigs very good team. Good Luck Rockets against bulldogs!!

Rockets in another close game. Athens has some great athletes with speed. If Wellston can contain them in open field, it should be a good game!

I expect this to be another hard hitting close contest. I do expect the Bulldogs to bounce back after a tough loss and give their all on senior night and find a way to win.

This game is at peden right.... I'm pretty sure it is, but not for sure..
Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
Caulker10 yeah its at Peden, and I think they're charging to park and its 7-8 dollars to get instead of 5!

Parking is free at both Athens High and Peden. The designated lots are the front and rear main lots at Peden and the lot immediately to the left of the stadium only as far as I know, they are the ones with AHS event parking signs anyway.

Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
His name is Devon sharp,he is probably the fastest and hardest runningback wellston has seen this year.athens downfall is their line not very big or strong.#5 and #2 are very dangerous in the open field.i watched athens and alex play last week and athens seems to run same offence as minford wellston needs to play good defence if they want to come away with a win.Caulker10 wrote:Who is #5 for Athens, seen this on kid on GG he is a good athlete... Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
Athens ran the "wild dog" formation and a little read option for the first time last week with Sharp so I'd look for a little more of that come friday just to give Wellston something else to prepare for. When they run these formations they use #22 Chris Russell as the tailback who is a pretty good running back also. Athens has also tried hard the last couple of weeks to get #2 Ian Dixon involved more in the offense with minimal success and I'd expect them to continue that trend also because anytime he touches the ball he's a threat to score. Trey Harris was in uniform last week but didn't play against Alexander which was an upgrade from the jeans and T-shirt he was wearing against VC, if he can play this week the playbook will be opened up a little more than is possible with Josh Skinner who has done a good job but hasn't been asked to do much in the passing game.
