Valley is good. No doubt. Still alot of questions remain. Yes they beat West withouth their stud. Compare to the Minford win over Oak Hil without Slone. There are going to be doubters and astericks regardless of the main thing which is a "W".

I think out of the next two games, Burg is the toughest for the Indians. Not only is Burg really good, they have owned Valley and there is definitely some type of a mental block the Indians will have to overcome on top of outscoring Burg. If they can get through this week unblemished, I think it could be a long night for my Falcons week 10 and possibly watching instead of playing week 11.

I also agree with Spamony that Shank is going to shine on defense. It seemed like no matter how you line up or pull block at him, he still makes plays.

This will no doubt be the game of the week. The winner controls the Gold Football.

wow some people need to accept that valley is just GOOD.......there are more putdowns said about valley than any other team...they are 8-0 and won every game in a way that would usually draw attention, but noooo we talk about the schedule..if you check they are 3rd in region 19 and when you are consistently beating tems by 40, dont matter who it is you win by 40+ good job...but instead we put them down..give valley some cred,, they whooped on our boys, granted we SUCK this year....but i think valley can beat anyone they line across from and i think they will

I bet win or lose, Valley fans will still be just as confident in this team. The majority of the folks on this website who are Valley fans (including the one you directed your post at) were here in '05 (on this site) supporting their team. And, they were also here in '06, '07 and '08 when fans were dogging their team after the switch to the SOC II. Again, they were right here last year as this group started to come of age and gave the undefeated SOC II champs all they wanted at their place after being down BIG at the half (a win in that game would have made for three-way tie for the league title...with Valley included at the top). Now, the same people are here again. Whether people like it or not, the folks from Lucasville haven't backed down. Keep on talking all the negatives that you want (not just speaking about you here QB4, your post just helped inspire mine...no hard feelings). This TEAM is here and this group of FANS is here. Nobody's backing down and NOBODY is going to lose confidence!!!

Game on!!!!

(Being a fan of the SOC is a blast!! I really hope at the end of the season ALL fans from ALL OF THE SOC SCHOOLS realize just how priveledged we have been to watch all of these young men from all of these schools compete.)

When the Burg's back is against the wall, they dominate ALL SOC teams. Da Burg wins out and host a playoff game.

Against throwing teams, Burg has suffered. Weeks 2,3 and 4. They hung in there and got the W in week 3 and 4. Actually had a chance in week 2, but OH a better team that day. Defense has really come around since then. West has played the same passing teams as Burg (except OH) and made a game of it vs Valley. Dont know why Valley will do any better vs Burg. I dont know if Burg will play bend but dont break, or be very aggressive on the D side. Burg has made ALOT of defensive changes throughout the season. Actually, I dont know who will line up where. Is that a ploy to the films Valley can look at? Hmmmmmmm. Anyway, great game come Friday!

BTW, Jesco, ur one class act!! Ur posts are great!

I think a big part of it is the fact FOR YEARS all of these posters trashed Valley for being in the SOC1, talking about being paper champs, and we'd never compete in the SOC2, and all that noise, simply can not stand the face that we ARE competing in the SOC2, and we arent going anywhere. Just a few weeks back, it was "Valley will lose the last 3" "Valley cant play with the big dogs"

Even if Valley finishes 10-0 and wins the SOC2, I'm sure there will be plenty of excuses as to why it happened...

I will say I think if Valley loses friday, they will finish 9-1 and be in the playoffs...

Good Luck to both teams, and HOPE it's injury free!!

I have witnessed both teams..........BOTH are good teams......my opinion, whoever wants it more and makes the least mistakes will determine the outcome of the game......both better be strapped up and ready to go, or it could be a long night for which one doesn't.

 Ya know....I know another team that thought they were gonna be 10-0 also, but something tragic happened....I say don't count your chickens before they hatch (chicken_coop should know that) ....you never know what is gonna happen around that corner! Valley was brought to the SOC2 in hopes that they would succeed and not just be another easy win in the conference like NW. I am glad to see Valley and Minford playing well....it shakes things up a little bit and makes it not so boring as was in the past. Valley you have 2 tough opponents coming up...best of luck to you!!!

How blessed we are to be able to watch the young men of Valley & Wheelersburg strap it on and play this game. Week after week they lay it on the line for there team. school and community. Win or lose both of these teams deserve the utmost respect. It will be a war.

As FIDO stated earlier this Valley team is different then any I have ever seen. IMO best TEAM Valley has fielded maybe ever. Does that mean they will win? No, it doesn't mean that at all, but it does mean at the end of the game Wheelersburg will know that they have been in a battle unlike anything they have experienced so far. This TEAM just doesn't stop coming at you with everything they have, so to simply say because the past few years haven't gone Valley's way (and yes I know they haven't beat them since Kennedy was president, but they have only been playing them regularly for the past 4 or 5 years) makes this game an automatic W for Burg is insane. This Valley TEAM is focused and determined to put forth there best effort in each and every game, no reason for this week to be any different and it will not be.

Hope everyone is able to come out and watch the great young men (of both teams) playing in this one! It should be an electric playoff type atomsphere and one heck of a game.

I think IF valley could win it would be huge for the future just to get the monkey off. That's a big IF! I know burg will put more pressure on yates than west. Looks to me like Valley is a 2 man team. Stop Holcomb and yates and they will fold.

I don't post much anymore but I can't say I surprised that Valley isn't getting much respect on here. Heck leading up to the West game you would have thought Valley has never competed with West and didn't belong on the same field as the other SOC II schools. When plain and simple, Valley has a winning record against every SOC II school except Burg since Coach Crabtree took over the program 20+ years ago, not only that but the loss of Pendleton has tarnished the win in most people's eyes. Of course people fail to mention that Valley lost a 3 year starter and captain at LB last season in the win against West, and act like it didn't have an impact in week 9 and 10. It's a double standard IMO, and only a win will change people's minds.

So IMO, this weeks game is as much mental as it is physical and I truely believe that the same keys apply to this weeks game as it did last week, stop the run and force the opponent to slow down the spread attack. Because regardless of what has been said, Valley is much much more than a 2 man offensive team. They have multiple players with multiple TDs and last Friday out of Yates 8 completions he used 4 different recievers.

All of that being said, Burg is absolutely a dangerous team and more than capable of beating the Indians. Should be an amazing game to watch Friday night in Lucasville!
